I haven't met a Rachel Van Dyken book yet that I haven't liked, and that streak continues with Dirty Exes.
This is Ian from the Matchmaker's Playbooks little sister Blaire's story, and we do get a couple of glimpses of Ian in this story too.
What a great start to the Liars Inc story, and if this is what we can expect from the rest of the series, I am hooked.
Blaire is a little heartbroken and a lot p!ssed off - and as I read I couldn't blame her.
Jessie is her new target for her PI business, and whilst I know I am supposed to love him, ugh nope, it was always all about Colin for me. This may sound like a love triangle -or love square really with other people involved - but really it isn't.
There is a little bit of everything in this story. It is a great mix of laugh, drama, romance. Full of friendship, second chances, and dirty cheating liars.
I liked it so much I read it in one sitting.
This could well turn out to be a favourite series from Ms Van Dyken, and I can't wait to see what she brings us next.
If you are looking for a book that is both humorous and will hold your interest, then look no further because you’ve just found it! Blaire and Isla work as PIs taking on cases of exposing cheaters. When their latest case involves Jessie, the NFL player that got away from Blaire, she has mixed emotions of exposing him! However, Colin - who is Jessie’s BFF - helps her willingly but he wants Blaire in his life, his bed and as his future:)
Definitely laugh out loud moments in this book and also edge of my seat frustration with certain characters but overall it was an amazing book and I’m keen to jump into the next one!
I loved this book. This has been my typical experience with RVD books so far, even though I haven’t read too many as yet.
Dirty Exes was just so much fun. It has got some heavy undertones, but for me this book was more fun than anything. I wanted that happy ending, and I wanted it with the one particular guy out of the two choices that Blaire has.
I loved all the characters, apart from the ones we aren’t supposed to like. Colin is just a ball of fun but a great guy underneath, Jessie is intense and needs to work back to being himself, Blaire is a woman on a mission but just needs to believe in herself again and have some fun, and Isla is an awesome best friend and quite fun as well when you get down to that layer. The four of them make for an entertaining novel that I sped through really quickly.
I really look forward to the next book in this series, can October please hurry up?
What a riot! This book was the perfect blend of humour and drama. I loved all of the characters, and I don’t want to give away too much of the story, so I’ll just say that it kept me hooked and I didn’t have a clear idea of who I wanted for Blair until halfway through the book because both Jesse and Colin are dreamy in their own ways. Can’t wait for more of this series!
Dirty Exes by Rachel Van Dyken is the first book in her latest series, Liars, Inc., . A spin-off set in the same world as her Wingmen, Inc., series, this is the story of two scorned women who have taken the dregs they were dealt in their past relationships and turned into a goldmine business that specializes in proving (or dis-proving) the infidelity of a loved one. The two creators Isla and Blaire are bombshell, take no crap women.
Blaire has a new target. Find proof of his infidelity and/or see if he will cheat by being the "bait". Problem is, the target is her ex and the one who got away and she isn't ready to blur the line between her obligations for her client and her desires to possibly rekindle what they had before he was traded to another team. Oh, did I not mention, he is retired NFL star quarterback Jessie Beckett and ridiculously hot to boot. Using all the weapons in her arsenal she ends up relying on his best friend Colin to get her out of more than one sticky situation. If it wasn't for the creepy snake tattoo on Colin's arm he'd be even hotter than Jessie.
Quirky, well-written, well-paced, angsty and emotional and sexy. Loved it - RVD is one of my must-read authors and this book did NOT disappoint. Enjoy!
So, so, funny. This book drew me in and kept me reading from the beginning.
I loved the main character, there's a bit of drama, a bit of angst, a lot of humour and the choice between the two men isn't obvious which I loved. Both of the love interests were great in their own ways but she slowly realises that only one is right for her - absolutely loved it.
