I love how this story begins.... Love through adversity often forms the strongest of bonds... Alena and Dimitri are perfectly happy, despite the poverty they live in.
However, when Alena gets caught during one of their scams, her eyes are opened to a whole new world and she sees an end to all their suffering. The cracks form in their relationship as each of them tries to get their point of view across.
Years later, Alena exists on the memory of Dimitri while he loathes her and makes it his mission in life to see her suffer.
Beautiful Revenge is well written and executed. My only issue was the parallel with Girl, Wife, Prisoner. Both books are about a young girl entering into a loveless marriage, one by force and the other by circumstance.
I received this as an ARC which I voluntarily read in exchange for an honest review.
Oh wow, Alena and Dimitri, what a challenging journey to find love. These two met as kids with Dimitri taking in a 15 year old Alena to provide a roof over her head. As they struggle to survive on their own, Alena stumbles across a crazy opportunity. She can become a “good wife” for $5 million all she has to do is marry a stranger and provide him with an heir. Dimitri can’t believe she even considers this, they love each other, but Alena can’t see another way to survive. Their confrontation and fight gutted me knowing that the world as they knew it was being shattered. Several years later, a successful Dimitri finds his way back to Alena to seek revenge. This isn’t just a romance, it’s also a tale of growing up and learning from your mistakes as you hope to find love and happiness. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
Once again Sienna Blake has pulled on my heartstrings with this fantastic novel. I received a copy in return for an honest review and boy did it deliver. I fell in love with Dimitri's passion, I resonated with Alena's struggle to do the right thing and I adored this whole novel. Have you ever regretted a decision you made, thinking you made it for the right reasons but instead you lost part of your heart, your soul? This is a story that you can relate to, we all have that 'one that got away'. Can these two get a happy ever after? Is it possible? No spoilers here, you will have to read it and find out for yourself.
