OMG!! I loved this book so much!! I loved it all!! I loved the story of Branch and Layla and how they met, all the twists, and man, I wanted to reach through the book and throat punch Callum so badly! I didn't like him one bit!!! I really enjoyed the storyline, the writing style of Adriana's that I enjoy anyway, but man it was so good!!! I literally couldn't put it down. I had to finish it and see how it ended. Layla did get on my nerves a bit as she couldn't make up her mind, and was going back and forth. It's like a movie in which you want to yell "What in the hell are you doing woman?" Layla and Branch meet as he plays football with her brother! He knows he can't be there for her in the way she deserves, but Layla has a surprise for him! And oh boy, doesn't Finn hate it!! Layla has her bestie Poppy there for support, and I love their friendship! I want to be friends with them! Of course there's some humour in the book in which I loved too! There were some twists and turns, and I loved how protective Branch was with Layla when Callum was involved. But all in all I really LOVED this book! I also really enjoyed that it entertained with her other books in the Gibson Boys Series!!!!!! I was totally surprised, and thoroughly enjoyed it!!!! I can't wait to read more in this series from the other authors and I want to find Finn and Poppy's book!
A great story with excellent characters. Branch and Layla got hot and heavy pretty quickly. Then she finds out she's pregnant and it's quite a shock. Branch doesn't take the news very well, but he steps up when it counts.
When I heard about this book I was excited, I love Adriana Locke’s books and I love a good sports romance so both of those together sounded perfect.
I was not disappointed. Lucky Number Eleven was a great read! It was the perfect combination of sexy and sweet and included all the funny banter that I have loved in Adriana Locke’s past books. I loved Branch and Layla together, their chemistry flew off the page and I was hooked from the very first page. There is no rush with their romance, I thought it grew at a perfect pace. There are some road bumps and obstacles they have to face but ultimately their relationship grows stronger because of them and you see them grow as people because of these obstacles. These two care so deeply about each other. The banter between Branch and Layla had me laughing out loud and smiling while I was reading. I really loved it.
The secondary characters in this book make it even better, they don’t just sit in the background and have no purpose. They were great characters in their own right. I really loved Poppy, Layla’s best friend. I thought she reminded me of my own best friend and that made it even better for me.
I really loved this book and I would highly recommend it!

American Football romance, 'Lucky Number Eleven', by Adriana Locke, was a well-written, fun, fast and light read. Yet, Adriana added depth, emotions, conflict and reflections, too. Exposé, the gossip magazine played an important part in the plot and the football references weren't difficult to follow. The MCs were, Illinois Legends footballer, Branch ‘Lucky’ Best and Fashion Blogger, Layla James Miller. Branch had a media reputation for being a manwhore, and while cocky, he was actually charming, funny, sexy, sweet and thoughtful (turns out he was quite naughty, too). Layla was the smart, gorgeous, independent and spirited younger sister of Branch's teammate, Finn. Layla and Poppy (her friend) had a weekend of quiet relaxation in mind at the Miller's holiday cabin by Lake Michigan. (Layla was recovering from a broken heart.) Branch and Finn had the same idea for some down time. Layla was taboo - Finn warned Branch, not to touch! As Layla and Branch's attraction was powerful, they both ignored the warning, and 'went for it!' Just a fling, no harm done...right?! I loved the MCs relationship - natural and uncontrived and their banter was clever and flirty. (At the same time, the subplot involved Finn and Poppy.) Told in a dual POV, the solid, feel good plot revolved around the MC's romance and dealt with the their growing feelings, after the 'no strings' deal disintegrated. It also involved several challenges. I enjoyed 'Lucky Number Eleven'. Adriana's stories have become automatic downloads for me.
This was a really good read! I loved the alternating POV, as it gave a greater insight into both of our main characters.
Layla is such a fun and amazing FMC. She was dumped and kicked out by her boyfriend so he could shack up with a new girl who he then proceeds to take on the tropical getaway that Layla had planned for them. To escape for a little bit, she takes her best friend Poppy and heads up to the family cabin for a break. What she didn't expect was for her famous NFL star brother, Finn, to be there with his teammate and best mate, Branch. Layla is determined not to make the same mistakes and fall for a pro athlete again after her last 3 disasters, but Branch is making it hard for her to resist.
Branch was so well written! He's an arrogant player who never wants to settle down. He doesn't know what it is about Layla that draws him in, but he finds himself opening up to her like he's never done before. Despite Finn warning him against going for Layla, they have an amazing and hot weekend together, hiding it from Finn. But then reality comes crashing in. The unexpected fallout of their weekend together takes them both by surprise, and puts Branch on the outs with both Finn and Layla. But despite his initial reaction, Branch realises that Layla might be the best thing that ever happened to him and he makes an effort to win her back.
Layla also starts to realise there might be more to Branch, as his actions show him to be the kind and loving man that she so desperately wants, and needs, him to be.
Their story has its ups and downs, and Layla's ex keeps causing trouble for them, but ultimately that helps Layla see Branch for who he truly is - sometimes actions speak louder than words - so long as the motivation behind the action is known. Finn and Poppy are great supporting characters and I'm interested to see if they have their own story.
Definitely a book I would recommend, and I look forward to continuing to read more books by this author too.
Branch and Layla's story is my favourite so far from Adriana Locke. I could not read this story fast enough, staying up til 2am to finish. Perfect sports romance with a bit of a twist. I smiled a lot in this book but also had enough feels to grab my attention and the chemistry between the characters was spot on. Add to that great supporting characters and you have a perfect read. Definitely recommend.
