This book had all the elements of a good story, lots of action, an interesting plot, relationship trials, likeable characters and lots of fantastic creatures. It was easy to read and kept you reading to see what was going to happen. It’s a stand-alone story with an ongoing plot through out consecutive books which I can’t wait to read.
I was being hunted by a Fae Knight. I told you, Jade. You’re coming with me. Damn it all, just what had I gotten myself into? What in the everlasting?!? I have to say that this is one fantastic book! I don't often read urban fantasy, but I am BEYOND happy that I read this one! I was blown away by just how creative, unique, funny, the witty dialogue and exceptionally well-written this story is! It's highly entertaining, captivating and completely drew me in with the great world building, the numerous different "species" from humans to Fae, shifters, witches and more! I absolutely loved just how creative ALL OF IT IS from the different magics, the amazing Lady Kay, the creatures, New York, the histories, it is ALL MAGICTACULAR!!! The multifaceted characters are super easy to connect with, to become them, to live the story with & as them, and I loved becoming Jade! This may be her debut book, but it sure doesn't read like one! Alicia Wolfe is an exceptionally talented author and I CANNOT WAIT to read more!!
That was an awesome read! Once I started I couldn't put it back down until I finished reading it. Now I am all set to read the next adventure with Lady Jade and Lord Stronghold.
Why? As you may have read from the blurb, Jade is a cat burgular who gets caught. The author (Alicia Wolf) portrays Jade as being stubborn but also how scared she is when faced with danger, something we can all relate too. Jade faces danger that comes through her stealing more than she was suppose too, and it impacts upon those she cares about. The story then takes you through her journey of many new people, battles, magic and more... you get the gist. Get the book, and read it... you will either enjoy it or love it like I do.
So here's my cue to pop off now and get things done, so I can read Book 2 "Dragon Knight"... Happy Reading All.
A great start to a promising series, a main heroine i actually like & same for her romantic counterpart. No stupid petty games, between them, & thankfully not a reverse harem (the buzz of this has grown old & im over it). I have already checked and part 2 is avail and it looks like a few more after that, wooohooo! Cant wait to see where the story goes next.
A nice piece of urban fantasy meshed together with a unique blend of the modern together with elements of the traditional fae. A good action story with a snarling, kicking, feisty heroine. There's plenty to like with the magically inclined, castles on top of skyscrapers, broomsticks and a fae queen complete with her sexy fae guard.
