Hooked me from page 1!! I absolutely loved it. The story is unique, as are the characters. Jackson and Lucas have a past, and both thought the other had given up on them. A chance meeting 8 years after they were pulled away from each other brings back all their feelings, and it seems fate keeps putting them in each others paths (or it just may be Lucas' dearly departed Gram meddling from beyond).
As the truths from their past are slowly revealed, it seems Jackson's Father had been doing some meddling of his own. But Jackson isn't a child anymore, and is determined to forge his own path, one he can be proud of and be happy with. Lucas needs to lower his walls if he's to let Jackson back in, but that also means he risks getting hurt again when Jackson goes back home. Now they both need to decide whether they take a chance, and really open up to each other about their fears and desires. Once again, Gram might just be the answer.
I loved how the story played out, how intense and palpable their connection and chemistry was. The secondary characters were amazingly written as well - can't wait for Shaw and Bash to get their own stories. Definitely a book I would recommend.
I have adored every word written by Brooke Blaine so far, so the chance to read an early copy of her new MM book was a no brainer.
MM is my jam - I seriously can't get enough of it, and can't get enough of Lucas and Jackson.
I love a second chance romance, and A Little Bit Like Love swept me away with the raw emotion and love and lust our boys have for each other.
I liked that there wasn't too much OTT drama and angst - sure there were some issues, that is why they were away from each other, however it is real issues that were relatable.
The sexual tension is through the roof - this girl is still fanning herself a couple of days after reading. With all that spark, you just knew that things were going to be hot hot hot once they got to that place.
Jackson and Lucas have an epic journey to get back to each other, and each and every page is a delicious insight into their lives, leaving me anxious and gasping with anticipation at what would happen with them next.
Now I am tapping my foot, impatiently waiting for the second book in the South Haven series.
What I most liked about this story, was it had a real connection with the family we choose and how an actual blood relative can be so conniving and vindictive. The love between Jackson and Lucas always remained true to one another.
Omg, I loved this book so much. Receiving it late I thought I'd be late with my review but I read it in 2 days, it was that good I couldn't put it down.
Jackson and Lucas meet at the academy for boys when they are in their teens, and the friendship they form becomes something more when Jackson is taken away by his arrogant father......
The story starts up 8 years later and that's where it really picks up. A chance meeting back in South Haken has Jackson and Lucas stirring up old feelings. The angst and the heartbreak they still go through had me so gripped I really felt for them.
Lucas is still so angry. Can he open up his heart again to let Jackson back in after he upped and left him all them years ago after Jackson's father's medalling? You will have to read this amazing book to find out if they finally get their HEA.
The other characters in the book, especially Bash, had me lol at points. He's such a hoot, and Shaw.... well he sounds sexy as hell, can't wait to read his book later this year (the next in the series).
Brooke really knows her stuff, it just had the right amount of sex for such a beautiful love story. Books after fifty
I was completely thrilled to recive the first book from the exciting new series, South Haven. Written by the most incredible, Brooke Blaine. I so thoroughly loved all her amazing sexual MM books. I was so pleased to enjoy this one too!! I so thoroughly adored this sexy book. Found it just so difficult to put down!!
As Lucas Sullivan had decided to eat a most tasty morning meal together. We'd both travelling down south in Savannah, Georgia. Both having such a wonderful time together. Now Jackson Davenport had been forcefully removed by his father an boys academy situated further north in Connecticut. Sadly, away from his dearest friend Lucas.
As Jackson remembered back to this time. Many years had past, Jackson was a charming head business man in Connecticut. Living here made Jackson a responsible adult for once in his life. He had suffered deeply and he just knew that he that his past memories where all gone.!!
Such a marvellous romantic love story between both Lucas and Jackson. I so thoroughly adored this fabulous sexy delicious tale. I completely loved these wonderful unique characters so very much. A complete winner for Brooke Blaine, amazing author and good friend too!!
A beautiful second chance love story. I really enjoyed this book, couldn't put it down. It was a beautifully written story of two men who had lost each other and have now crossed paths again, I can't wait to read the next book.
Jackson and Lukas fell in love in school but we're heartbreakingly pulled apart each thinking the other had abandoned them. Business bring Jackson, the successful Businessman back to town, an overheard conversation sets him on a path of tracking down Lukas. It doesn't all end there with fireworks and a HEA, the men have their chellenges, insecurities, families, even a fiancee. Can they make it through or is it easier to go back to how their lives were last week? Do they really want to go back to being those people?
Reviewed for Amo and Sarah's Book Corner.
I received a copy of this book in return for an honest review.
This story was very well written and a real page turner, that had me up until the early hours, wiping my tears away and smiling like a lunatic. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Every character had their part and ninety-nine percent of them made me fall in love with them. Lucas and Jackson are just adorable from high school to eight years later. I lived through every bit of turmoil that they did.
It superbly portrayed the difficulties of dealing with a rich, bigoted parent who interfered to the extreme and the back bone that Jackson finally grows eight years later, when all the secrets of the past show themselves.
This is my first book by Brooke Blaine and I can't wait to get my hands on the next in the series. Oh and I definitely need to have a story from Bash and Shaw!
I've been a massive Brooke Blaine fan since I read Licked the day it came out, and she's been an instant one click for me ever since.
This book did not disappoint! I'm still relatively new to the MM genre, I've only read a dozen or so of them, but this was by far one of my favourites!
An intense second chance romance full of insane chemistry and a healthy dose of angst, as well as excellent supporting characters who brought the story just the right dose of humour - absolutely loved Shaw and Bash!
Overall I just loved this story ❤️ and as someone who isn't usually a fan of second chance romances, I think Brooke did an amazing job telling this story!
