A classic Chick Lit...
11 August 2018
Marian Keyes is a classic and I am delighted this is now available in Kindle format. She is the queen of writing chick-lit novels.
“Lucy Sullivan is getting married” is a great book. Vivacious, funny, self-deprecating, and also sad, Lucy Sullivan is a character not easy to forget.
Lucy Sullivan goes out with colleagues from work - Meredia (who's over weight with a loud dress sense) Megan (beautiful, rude and Australian) and Hetty a hard working posh middle aged woman to a fortune teller in a dodgy part of London City. The fortune teller tells Lucy that within the year she will be married. However she isn’t even seeing anyone...
Her love life is an absolute disaster - she lurches from one hopeless relationship to the next, never wanting to put any kind of pressure on her generally broke, party-loving and useless boyfriends. Eventually she begins to believe the fortune teller is right especially when she meets what she her ideal man - Gus.
There are many things happening in this book... failed romances, the psycho flatmate, the very overweight man-hungry co-worker, and of the course the delicious and perfect Daniel -Lucy's very good and kind friend.
Marian Keyes links them all together for an amazing, read, I absolutely adored revisiting and found it funny as well as heart wrenching in parts.
