This was my first time reading anything from Sienna, but I really enjoyed this book. It's a great start to the series. I really enjoyed the storyline and how Roman and Jules meet, and what happens to them along the way. Jules is a detective, and she meets Roman at her mother's gravesite, and they have a hot and heavy 24 hours before Roman has to go to back to Europe. Roman goes to leave, but he's stopped by his father! Now a man has been found dead, and Roman is the prime suspect, but Jules comes face to face to a side of Roman she hadn't seen. Two rival families, one of them being Roman's, are feuding, and Jules has to figure out who killed this man. She goes to see Roman and Able shows up. The book is a cliffhanger, but thank goodness the other books are out. I did find myself sometimes skipping through some pages, cause it felt like it was just words filling the page. But all in all it was a great storyline!
Electric, that is the connection that Roman and Jules have when they first meet. These two intense, driven and strong characters are drawn to each other which makes it hard to stay away. When they do give in, it is combustible between them and lasts for 24 hours. Whew! When their daily lives clash, she is a Detective and he is the son of a crime lord, well everything becomes very complicated. Roman has worked for years to stay away from his family, he doesn’t want their darkness to invade his life yet his father has other plans. Jules followed in her own father’s footsteps and became a detective. When her father, the Chief, finally gives her a big case to investigate, she never expects to come face to face with her off-the-charts one-night stand, Roman. This romance fits the summary of a Romeo & Juliet saga as our characters, from opposite worlds find a connection but their families are dictating a different path. Is there any chance for a HEA? I’m on the cliff from this ending and anxious to find out what will happen.
