A gripping tribute to women working for the Resistance
18 April 2018
Whilst set in the terrifying period of Occupied France, this novel relies less on the history and geography of the time than the sheer guts, determination and bravery of women working undercover in war-torn France. Using a degree of coincidence and luck the author weaves a thrilling tale full of suspense and camaraderie. Three women from different backgrounds and cultures work together in life-threatening situations that would challenge even the hardiest male. A good read perhaps tarnished slightly for me by the ending. It might have made for an easy night's sleep however I don't necessarily agree that life's events pan out so well.
