The third in the Doctor series follows Dr Nick Raines head of Neurosurgery at St Luke's hospital, who also happens to be Winnie's ex from the Billionaire series. I've loved all the books in this series including this one as we get to learn more about Nick and his story in connection to Winnie and their daughter Lexi. I really warmed to Nick and although he'd made some pretty stupid decisions in the past was trying to make up for that now. Then he meets Charlotte Hollis a headhunter trying to get him to take a job in LA. While he's determined not to move away from Lexi again he does however find himself attracted to Charlotte (and vice versa). What follows is some crazy trivia, a weird cameraman, a slightly dense doctor and a big fat plot twist! But all will end well fear not! Once I started reading I couldn't stop and now I'll be waiting to see what new madness Max Monroe can bring us.
Doctor Doctor, give me the news I've got a bad case of lovin' you!
Time for us to meet the head of Neurological surgery, Dr Nick Raines.
Now, if you have read the Billionaire Bad Boys series, you will remember Nick - he is Winnie's daughter's baby daddy who skipped out on her for a job.
I didn't know how Max Monroe were going to redeem him after the way I felt about him, but redeem him they did.
In fact, I liked him a lot more than I thought I would! I liked that he dropped everything to be a father to Lexi.
Enter Charlotte - I freaking adore her. She knows what she wants, and she goes after it - and she want Nick. And plus, I think we would be great partners at trivia nights, since I have a head full of useless knowledge and like giving teams weird names.
I loved how they are together. She pulls him right out of his comfort zone right from the start, and he adores her for it. But will it be enough?
The road to true happiness is never a smooth one, and there are a few speed bumps on the way there for Nick and Charlotte, however I loved every word of their story.
And I can't forget the little scene stealer, Nick and Winnie's girl Lexi. There is nothing that I don't adore about this girl!
Dr Neuro is a cute, sweet and funny story, with a few heartaches thrown in for good measure.
Can't wait to see what this dynamic duo brings us next.
When we first were introduced to Nick way back in Winnie’s story he was an egotistical, selfish jerk. To finally have his story we now understand why and his misconstrued view of the world. It was nice to see him trying to be in his daughters life while working his butt off the rest of the time. Charlotte was a breathe of fresh air but to then find her history with Winnie was a surprise. I was glad things worked as they did and everyone got their HEA.
Fantastic book. I didn't know that I would enjoy it as much as I did. I had a preconceived notion that maybe Nick wasn't going to be someone that I would love based on previous Max Monroe books. But I just ADORED him!
ARC kindly received in exchange for an honest review.
I loved this book. I’ve enjoyed all of the St Lukes Docuseries novels so far, but I think I have to say that this was my fave. Something about Nick and Charlotte had me falling for the story instantly.
I absolutely devoured this book and I’m not even sure if I can pick one reason why. Everything about it just made me fly through it and have to know what would happen.
I particularly loved Charlottes outgoing side, and really liked Winnie and Lexi too. I haven’t actually ready the whole ‘Billionaire’ series, so I haven’t read Winnie’s book yet, but I sure am keen to after reading this one.
There were challenges in the storyline of the book, but mostly I felt like they were dealt with in a really good manner. Also, let me just say, Doreen and Harry 🙂
Definitely recommend this one, love love loved it.
