Part two in this series follows the exploits of Dr Scott Shepard AKA Dr ERotic. As opposed to Will Cummings, Scott is quite happy to have the fame of being on The Doctor Is In TV series. This hot doc is more than happy to use his new game to reel in the babes. Harlow Paige is the gossip columnist looking for a scoop on the good doctor when an unexpected injury brings her to his ER. What follows is a fun tale of our good doctor on the chase, Miss Paige attempting to stay away, parental meetings and a huge life changing bomb. And of course a little cameo from our favourite billionaires. I loved this just as much as Dr OBscene, it was funny, sweet and sexy in a totally stalkerish way! Thank you Dr Scott!
Harlow was looking for a man. Not a relationship. More you're one night kind of man. The one she ends up with, turns into a disaster which leads to her in the ER with a head wound. Enter Dr Erotic himself. Scott is drawn to the mystery woman who refuses to tell him her name and begs him to not look on the charts. Scott is another one of the doctors with the TV program. He's popular with the women and not looking for anything serious. When articles about him start popping up in a gossip column, he's curious about the person behind them. Fast forward and without giving too much of the story away, Scott and Harlow cross paths again at a stage show. He's there with his mother and she's with her father. Sparks ignite for all of them. Harlow's not looking for a relationship. She was burned from a bad one years ago. But the more time her and Scott spend together, the harder it is to deny they don't have feelings for one another.
Oh man I loved this book. This series has been really fun so far and I can't wait to read the next one.
I really really loved the banter between Scott and Harlow and I was definitely laughing out loud at some points and smiling like a loon at my kindle.
I also really loved some of the secondary characters such as Bill & Nicole and also Amanda. They really provided some comic relief as well.
The story-line on this one was fun and I loved how they showed Scott's bedside manner and connection with his patients. I really loved him as a character as we discovered more and more about him. Harlow could be frustrating at time, but she was hilarious so it wasn't really in an annoying kind of way at all. It just made you laugh at her and her stubborness.
A couple of particular characters that were trouble were no surprise, and I liked how the issue/anguish didn't drag on. The ending of this, everything about the book really, it all fit together well.
Max Monroe are a great writing duo and I can't wait to read more from them. Book 3 where are you!?
♬ Doctor Doctor, give me the news I've got a bad case of lovin' you! ♬
Yes! Let me at the next Dr Hottie, chief of St Luke's Emergency Departments, Dr Scott Shepherd.
Yep, just like Grey's Anatomy we have another McDreamy.
Max Monroe has delivered another smart, sexy funny romance that had me turning the pages. Harlow and Scott have that insta-spark thing going on, but he is a manwhore (who doesn't lead the ladies on) and she is like Taylor Swift - never ever ever getting back in a relationship.
Of course he will wear her down eventually, right? I mean, fighting is a form of foreplay, don't they say?
I loved getting a little bit of the Billionaire Bad Boys thrown in for good measure too. I will always need a little bit of Thatch in my stories!
Whilst I found that Dr ERotic was not as laugh out loud funny as Dr OBscene, that does not mean it was it was not as good or it wasn't funny, just a different kind of funny.
Dr ER is sweet and sexy and cute and adorable, and I read it in one sitting.
Now to see if Max Monroe can redeem Nick for me in the next book, as I have not been much of a fan of him to date.
