*voluntarily and honestly reviewed the ARC I received from Inkslinger PR, and I loved it so much that I bought my own copy*
I LOVED this so hard. It's not always that I enjoy the real world with crime families and death and scary things and- *shudders* -but with Phoenix, it's never a hesitation. It isn't too intense, it's something I totally click with, and oh my god but I want a pirate of my own! So bad!
I liked the writing style. It flowed nicely and quickly when things picked up. It kept the tone personal between the different POVs and it drove me insane sometimes with the way some people were towards my pirate, but in the end, I thought it all worked out for the better and I'm glad that we get a happy ending. It was a nice build up of romance between two people who couldn't deny the physical attraction. All the drama between the bloodlines and stuff was great. The little climaxes made it amazing for me and it's my current favorite read of 2017. I totally cried a few times in the end and overall, it's a book and author I highly recommend you check out. Now.
