I rarely give 5 stars but this story deserved them. The blurb explains the plot but once I started reading I couldn’t put it down. There is a good paced plot and interesting believable characters that keeps you reading to the end. We have two lovely leading characters surrounded by egos and attitudes that create a wonderful mix of angst, anger and purpose. Leona comes on an allowed one week visit to Heartsridge to search for her sister who did not come home after holidaying there. Leona is the quiet sister, an accountant safe in her little boring bubble of life. I loved Leona, she was so normal and had to force herself to, as she states, put her big girl panties on. Austin was just so loveable even though he is an Alpha and I laughed when Leona bought a brown bear from the gift shop as Austin is a black bear and was not amused. Their interaction and instant attraction was great and even though we had a misunderstanding due to lack of communication I could relate to both parties as to why they acted like they did. Which I really appreciated. I see by how the author has titled this that we will be hopefully getting all the teams stories. YAH. I cannot wait to read everyone else’s story and find out why they act like they do. This is my honest review of this book.
I always enjoy Olivia's stories; they are exciting and full of sexy shifters. And this one is no exception. Leona (a human) has come to Heartsridge (a shifter town) to look for her sister Harper who has gone missing, and has supposedly left Heartsridge. Leona runs into Austin when she is looking around in the forest and he carries her back to her hotel room. Then they find out that Harper is still in Heartsridge and that she has been bitten by a rogue fox-shifter and she is changing into a shifter (a fox). And Austin's bear has decided that Leona is their forever mate. But Leona listens to some bitchy women who talk as if they know everything there is to know about shifters and their mates and decides that Austin has just been feeling sorry for her and so she tries to push him away. Then he tells her that she can stay in Heartsridge if she becomes his mate and so she can be with her sister. The two are odds with one another until Leona asks why Austin wants to claim her as his mate and he finally admits that he is in love with her. She admits that she loves him too and finally he claims her and gives her the mate mark. I was given an Advanced copy of this book and am freely and voluntarily writing this review.
