I thoroughly enjoyed renewing my acquaintance with these vivid and interesting characters! Cooper-Posey does a great job of re-introducing the characters from previous books in the series (I have a terrible memory) without getting bogged down in boring details. The intricacies of time travel and the problems time travellers can cause are dealt with in enough detail to be really interesting without taking away from the excitement of the current unfolding story. There almost seems to be two stories unfolding and I was eager to read more about both! I’d highly recommend reading all the books in the Kiss Across Time series and in the correct order. The first book of this series, Kiss Across Time, was the first book of Cooper-Posey’s I read and the whole series still remains my favourite of all her books, for it never fails to surprise and delight! I eagerly await the next release in this series, later this year! Yay!
Wow, Wow !!! This story was just amazing, I don't do spoilers so I'll do the best I can. Time travel, do you believe? Well I tell you after reading the great world building in this series, especially in this book, I think I just might believe it myself. The author gives such meticulous time travel information that you'd swear she's done it herself. We have a traveler going to the wrong period and because of her sudden appearance has possibly changed not only her future but all those she loves. She must now figure out how to keep the past on course even though the one who put it on this course has now been killed. Before, during and after this incident we have some life changing surprises, both from within and out of the family. Whether the characters are vampire's or human the love between them is truly wonderful. If you are a fan of great paranormal time traveling stories, then you have to get this book now. Get the series as each book just enhances the storyline.
I was so excited to read this chapter of the Kiss Across Time series. Besides Veris, Alex has been one of my favourite characters sine his introduction in Kiss Across Swords. This was different though. We go back again to a time where Alex was mortal though unlike 'Swords' he's in his homeland and he isn't Alex he's Alim. Sydney must help Alim see how important it is for him to follow his dreams for they will eventually lead him to Veris and Brody and more importantly to Sydney and Rafe. There are a few surprises along the way that will leave you wanting more of the series.
Dont forget to read them in order or you'll get lost
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader copy of this book.
I really loved reading about Sydney meeting Alim (Alex) when he was still a human warrior. Their connection sizzled with every word. This time Rafe and Alex were left behind when Sydney leaped to protect her friends and family. Then she had to repair the damage to their own timeline that her leap caused. It was all nerve wracking, and the danger was high even though the author always provides a HEA. Twists and turns added some gasps, as did learning the three offspring of Taylor, Veris and Brody are more than human. Marit, Alannah and Aran have secrets of their own which brought further complexity to this story. Ms Cooper-Posey writes with great flair and honesty about her characters and what they get up to and this novel was a joy to read. Her histories are so alive you can feel the heat. I hope she writes many, many more books of this caliber!
