I was on a knife's edge throughout these books. I was so scared for all the main characters not just Shanti and Cayan, but the boys and Sanders and others that show up in books 2 and 3. I just knew that someone would end up dead and was dreading the loss of whichever beloved character would be sacrificed to the story. Like that author's other books, these have all the right elements: Excellent writing, creative vision, strong women, fully realise secondary characters and a nice mix of events. My only complaint is the author is often very light on physical descriptions and it can be hard to retain an image in your head when there's a lot of action between points.
New author, new mind blowing adventure. A beautiful story steeped in valour, perseverance, soul connections, loss & challenges. An incredible cast of characters that don't disappoint and humorous dialogue that has you in giggles.
A seriously enjoyable series with engaging characters and heart-wrenching moments. Excellent fight scenes that aren't labored, and poignant moments make this an excellent read. I highly recommend this series, and this fantastic author.
