I was so surprised by how much I enjoyed this book. Dead Eye is funny, suspenseful, and full of quirky, sassy characters that just left me wanting all the books so I could continue reading to see what happens next to Tess and Jack and the other inhabitants of Dead End, Florida.
If you love Charlaine Harris, Janet Evanovich, Molly Harper, or any of MaryJanice Davidson series, then I think you’ll enjoy the Tiger’s Eye Mysteries series
Jack Shepard, tiger shapeshifter and Tess Callaghan the woman who sees visions of people's deaths when she touches them, they sound like a match made in heaven right??
Jack has come back to Dead End after finding out his Uncle Jeremiah is dead, what Jack didn't know until he arrived back in Dead End was his uncle had actually been murdered, then within minutes another dead body shows up at the back door of his uncles pawn shop, seriously what else could go wrong....lol Jeremiah left the pawn shop and a P.I agency to Jack in partnership with Tess. Jack hasn't seen Tess since she was a kid once he gets a look at Tess now all grown up sparks begin to fly, Jacks tiger side wants to protect Tess with everything he has and Jacks human side can see one beautiful advantage to staying in Dead End a while, maybe even permanently.
But first Jack and Tess need to find out about these murders, how are they connected and ultimately who is the murderer and they need to find out quick before Tess becomes more than mere target practice.
I enjoyed this book to the point of having to finish it before putting it down. I had many a laugh out loud time and had to shake my head at all the coincidences and turns in the plot. Really good read.
I first met Jack Shepherd during the Warriors of Poseidon series and I was very intrigued with him, so I was looking forward to the release of Dead Eye and the beginning of the Tiger’s Eye Mysteries. I just knew that I would love this new series because of how much I loved all the books in the Warriors of Poseidon series and guess what? I am not disappointed, it is quite different but just as enjoyable and I was completely caught up in the suspense and the quirky town that Alyssa Day created. It is full of zany characters with some eccentric traits which adds some laughs and an overall sense of wonder which of curious spiked my curiosity along with building the suspense of who done it. All the characters are strong and easily related to which makes it easy for readers to become caught up in the happenings and ensures that they want to keep reading as well as ensuring that they continue to want to visit the town of Dead Eye. Also, the tension building mystery keeps readers on the edge of their seat with danger and thrills and it has a hint of romance just to spice things up, oh and I mustn’t forget that there was quite a few surprises in store for Jack as he discovers his inheritance which kept me on my toes as well.
Alyssa Day first came to my attention with her Warriors series and I am looking forward to continuing to enjoy her fabulously creative mind with the Tiger’s Eye Mysteries.
