Here we have Book Six in the “The Circle of Ceridwen Saga”. Octavia has woven many beautiful interconnecting stories into one glorious tapestry. This book is, like its sister volumes, an absolute delight and when it ended I found myself looking forward to the next in the series – hopefully the tale will continue! In Book Six our families in Gotland and England are growing up and the tenuous peace negotiated between Alfred and Guthrum is about to be tested, as will relationships between siblings, step siblings and friends. The women in this saga, while very different, have great strength and face their individual challenges with courage and dignity. It is a joy to read about such women – no simpering, shrinking violets here! I can highly recommend “Silver Hammer, Golden Cross” and all the other books in this saga. Keep them coming Octavia!
Octavia, you never fail to deliver such wonderful writtings and you always leave us in awe of your stories. I have now read and thoughly enjoyed all 6 of The Circle of Ceridwen. What a wonderful saga and still more to come. These are full of adventure, love, betrayal and friendships that last a lifetime. Beginning with young people who endure the invasion of the Danes into their lives in the nineth century and grow into adults who are separated from family and fight to stay alive so they may one day reunite. Octavia Randolph is a very talented author who writes so effortlessly and you can almost see what is happening and feel the atmosphere around the people she is writting about. Looking forward to book 7.
Octavia has done it again! Silver Hammer, Golden Cross has continued on from the first 5 books in this saga, with the characters maturing and having to cope with difficult times. The language that the book is written in, takes you back in time and you feel as though you are living the saga - congratulations Octavia for a brilliant read. I am eagerly waiting your next episode.
