While The Dryad’s Paw held my attention, there was a lot of backstory I was missing (I’ve never read this author before) and it left me feeling like I’d come into a conversation just before it ended, with no context with which to get my bearings.
But Not a bad short story.
Just basing my rating on what I read, I’d have to give this 2.5 🌟
For a short love story it was good with a happy ending. But sooooo much more could be told, not enough background or descriptions of the lead characters or locations they were in. A lot missing for me. Would really only give it a 2.5 stars compared to my normal reads, but it does advertise as a short story.
Kem and Lia's story is beautiful! True mates looking for each other for a year - until her father tries to force a marriage between Kem and Aella. It has a Happy Ever After ending, and I thoroughly enjoyed it - lovely to be able to read a book with a smile on my face all the way through it :-)
