‘Dirty Filthy Fix’ is a novella that combines characters from the Fixed Trilogy and the Dirty Duet. This is Nathan Sinclair the Creative Directer at Reach and Patricia “Trish” assistant to Hudson Pierce story.
This novella was scorching hot and super steamy. I loved that both Nate and Trish knew what they wanted and were both a bit older than we normally see in novels in this genre.
The chemistry between Trish and Nate is off the charts and his willingness to fit into her life really makes this delightful. So even though this is a novella there was plenty of emotions, plenty of erotica and while it draws From other series it can be easily read as a standalone. 4.5 Stars.
Dirty Filthy Fix is a slice of life from The Fixed Trilogy for 1001 Dark Nights series. In this Dirty Filthy Fix we meet Patricia, Hudson Pierce’s so prim and proper secretary. Who on Saturday nights goes to sex parties where she very strict rules on how she conducts herself. Then she meets Nathan Sinclair who is a partner at the same company as Donovan Kincaid from Dirty Filthy Rich Men Duet. Immediately Trish is attracted to Nate as soon as they meet at one of Saturday night Open Door sex parties, so she knows he is no stranger to dirty kinky sex. What Trish doesn’t expect is the connection she feels for him. At the parties Trish never takes off her mask, so she gobsmacked when Nate appears for an appointment with her boss and recognises her straight away. I don’t know how Laurelin does it, as always I was glued to my steaming kindle as this book is HOT and filthy goes without saying. This is a novella, but it didn’t feel like it. It never felt rushed and for the commitment phobe like Trish and their unconventional outlook on life The road to their HEA. was travelled along in a less traditional route which fitted the couple well. I can’t recommend this book enough, it’s a great edition to Laurelin’s Dirty Filthy, and Fixed universes. I can’t wait for the Audio copy so I can enjoy it all again.
I loved this novella. I loved that Hudson was in it. I loved Nathan, or Nate and it was a short, but incredibly hot and sexy read. Trish is a secretary/office assistant by day, but she spends her Saturday nights at a sexy and erotic club. It's there that she first sees Nathan, and then realises it's him when he turns up to see her boss. He recognises her too, despite the fact they'd both been wearing masks. She's a free spirit. Not interested in being tied down. She avoids any kind of commitment since it's not worked for her in the past, but Nathan is different. He doesn't want to change her or control her, he wants to fly with her. Be part of her world. This was such a sensual read. Loved it.
Open Door an exclusive club, catering to an even more exclusive membership. Trish has been a member for over ten years and has never been tempted to break her own self-imposed rules once, until Nathan that is. The stranger with the green eyes. Never seen before at Open Door, entrances Trish from the get go.
‘Why was this man so different? Maybe it was because those other men always looked everywhere in the room. When their eyes landed on me, I knew I was just one of many options. This man…’
This author does dirty, filthy and kinky like a poet creates a sonnet or a composer pens opera. There is no why’s or how’s, it just is.
Trish is a woman with rules and a regimental belief in those rules. She has NEVER broken her rules. So what is it about Nathan that makes her want to? I’ll admit that it didn’t click with me instantly that Nathan was the Nathan Sinclair, partner of Reach from Dirty Filthy Rich Men until fifteen percent in. I’ll read anything from this author without even reading the blurb, I am however still clearly stupid for not putting two and two together sooner.
The characters in this story had multifaceted levels to them, like a fine aged scotch you’re able to savour privately and with great vigour. Nathan is a strong, filthy alpha male (the best kind of male there is). He’s like the devil on your shoulder and you have no reason what so ever to listen to the angel. Give me time with this filthy man and I’d kick the angel to the curb in a red hot second. Trish isn’t a Suzy homemaker kind of woman, she isn’t one for tying down (unless it’s in bed), she has been damaged by life and Nathan is the kind of man who will tear down bridges to get what he wants.
"I don’t want to imprison you. I want to fly with you."
Dirty Filthy Fix was intoxicatingly addictive from minute one, the issues that arose in this story were dealt with in true Laurelin Paige fashion, in the right way. This author is true to her characters and never waivers even when the blood and pain is so visceral the pages practically run red with it.
Dirty Filthy Fix is another instalment in the 1001 Dark Nights series. I'm fairly new to these novellas, but each one that I have read has been enjoyable.
I'm already a fan of Laurelin Paige books, so this was a fun little novella to read, even if I haven't read the rest of the series. This was a hot little novella. I liked both the main characters, and I understood them.
I could definitely understand Trish's wants to be in her own space. Maybe not the same extent, but I understood it all the same. The kink club part is also interesting to me, again, not something I would necessarily do myself, but interesting to read about in a book.
