Finally someone is writing about money in a way that I can relate to and not recoil from. Being a writer within the finance industry myself, I can usually smell BS a mile off when it comes to this stuff. This book is the opposite of that. It's speaking to a new generation of individuals who find fulfilment in different things to the generations before them, but still want to manage their money and lead a kick ass life.
This is not a get-rich-quick book, instead, Clayton shows a clear path to funding your ideal lifestyle by focusing on your purpose and on your strengths first.Once you know what it is exactly that you are trying to achieve, you can then organise your cash flows. Clayton provides easy tools to have automatic payments to a separate spending account to achieve your ideal lifestyle. His Five Bucket Method is easy to implement and I would recommend this book to every 20 to 30 year old.
It's all about telling a story that anyone can relate to and learn from. I personally got super inspired and sorted out my banking resulting much more stress free life! This is the way how things should've been done ever since automation in banking was available. Clayton's book opens up the complex topic of the intersection of financial security and lifestyle providing you the tools to succeed at it. His writing style makes such a dry topic as finance funny and engaging. Rightly or wrongly, I'm giving Clayton a four star rating because there was a few chapters that I could not directly relate to and for that reason didn't find as engaging as the rest of the book.
Clayton Daniel is not the type of author who publishes something for notoriety. This book provides actionable tips and real value. As a finance professional myself, and someone who works with people to understand and benefit from the cross-section of money and life, this book has exceeded all expectations. Entertaining and well-written, you can tell he has poured a lot into this book and I believe it is the guide you need to live a fulfilled life on your terms. Don't wait too long before you read this.
I received an advance copy and absolutely loved this book. I'll admit, I do know the author well. In fact, he's a good friend. Someone I rate very highly and have enormous time for. He's extremely knowledgeable about finance, budgets and balances, he is a great communicator, and genuinely wants to share his skills and hard earned lessons with the world. So, what about the book? Well, considering the review I've given the author, what do you reckon? Read it.
This book presents a strong perspective on the interplay between personal finances and lifestyle. Clayton’s writing style keeps you thoroughly engaged, entertained and looking forward to more. For people who are looking for more out of life… this is refreshing read with clear actionable advice.
This book starts out very big picture - what is your purpose in life, and how do you want to spend your money, and ends up very detailed. So whether you are new to the subject of personal finance, or if you want to delve into different investment philosophies, this book is worth a read.
This book entertains while maintaining simplicity is king. Great strategies for financial freedom delivered in a way that will help anyone align their goals with what is truly important across their combination of needs and wants.
Well jees...personal finances spoken in easy peasy terms anyone could understand. Its nice to go through a process in workbook style where I set the bar. This is the sort of stuff they should be teaching at school - would recommend to family and friends!
