Henry, fifth in command with the Chicago Syndicate, is the Black Hat Hacker. He knows a lot of dirty secrets about a lot of very powerful men. Henry also has a dirty secret of his own that he doesn't want out. Mary is the sister to the head of the most powerful Chicago mafia. Mary and Henry were friends who cross the line and became much more to each other. Once they finally get together everything changes for both of them. Talk about some hot sex!! Can Henry trust Mary with his secret? Will their relationship be accepted by the Syndicate?
The twists and turns help make this book a page turner. I couldn't put it down until I read the whole book. There's an element of danger that is woven into the story and it had me on the edge of my seat. This is a beautifully written suspense filled story of love and strength. I love a great mafia story and now I've found a whole Chicago Syndicate Series to read. Soraya Naomi has a new fan!! I loved Black Hat Hacker!! Although this is book #6 in the series it was my first to read. Luckily I already have books 1-5 on my kindle so I've got some reading to do. Black Hat Hacker is a definite one-click book. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
If you love the mafia genre, then Soraya ‘s books will be right up your alley because this is one very well put together story.
Wow, the book dove straight into deadly action in this dual POV book with a 20 year old Mary about to free abused dogs kept for bait as part of a fighting ring. She’s almost brutally busted when Henry, her very ‘sexy and attractive’ older best friend rescues her – with deadly consequences. Cue in his call to the soldiers for clean up, and I’m wondering what world I’ve open my virtual pages to.
Layers upon layers of suspense begin to reveal themselves as I read into the first third of the book, and despite the fact that I dislike the romanticising of selling drugs, and mafia books in general, Soraya’s intriguing and genius way of writing had me totally enthralled in this story. I absolutely had to keep going. I also enjoyed the way that each change in chapter and POV hooked smoothly together.
If ever I was going to change my mind about avoiding Mafia drug cartels, Soraya would be the author to do it. Her writing is clever, and drives you to keep reading, despite the other interruptions that involves life in general.
I’ve certainly read and enjoyed other books whose characters happen to be in the mafia, but that world plays second fiddle to the plot surrounding the main characters. Black Hat Hacker dropped me right in the middle, and kept me immersed into what I imagine is just ordinary everyday violence for those in a drug syndicate. Romantic feelings and ultimate love for a woman are not something I’d have contributed to these guys, but again, Soraya has pulled it off.
I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of this book through the Quirky Blind Date with a Book Readers Group. 4 Stars for a well written and constructed book from the Mafia Genre.
This has a different feel to it than the others in the series as you could read this one as a standalone. Henry is a relatively new member of the syndicate and he's a bit of a mystery an intriguing mystery. He's the hacker the computer guy but he's no geeky nerd, he's just as at home with a gun as he is behind a computer. Mary and Henry have chemistry in spades but their relationship is full of ups and downs. Henry has a big secret that the syndicate can't find out about, if Mary finds out they will never be together. I really enjoyed the story there is drama it's the Mafia after all but this book is more about the budding relationship between the two. A great addition to the series.
Black Hat Hacker is an enjoyable addition to Soraya Naomi's Chicago Syndicate series. Having met both Henry and Mary in previous books, it was interesting to see where their story would lead. The twists and turns in their story started almost immediately.
Being an animal lover, I love that this was a huge part of Mary's character. Her character although previously could have been seen as "just the little sister" was quite strong. She has her weaknesses....mainly Henry but her strength made her character.
Henry makes the story. He isn't just the hot alpha hacker. He has a past that provides the twisting intrigue.
Thanks you, Soraya. I can't wait for more. The Chicago Syndicate is a great mafia romance series. I recommend it to readers who enjoy mafia romance.
This is book 6 in the series, though you could easily read this as a standalone. I loved Henry!! I think he has to be my favourite character so far. All of the character in the series are so well written and the interaction between them is fantastic. Henry is a hacker a sexy hot hacker, with a huge secret. A secret that can cost him his life. Mary is the sister of his boss, and therefore off limits...Or is she?? With twists and turns this is a journey you won't want to miss!! I voluntarily read an advanced readers copy of this book
I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book
This is the 6th book in the Chicago Syndicate series but can be read as a standalone. I will be purchasing the other 5 books as l really enjoyed this book.
Mary is the sister of the Chicago Syndicate boss, she is in a bad relationship with Kenco. Henry is a black hatter hacker, he is a member of the Chicago Syndicate and not as a lowly sergeant. Mary has feelings for him, but he doesn’t get close to anyone after being burned by a women. With twists and turns, drama and a great storyline this is an excellent read.
This review is from: Black Hat Hacker (Chicago Syndicate Book 6) (Kindle Edition) Absolutely loved Black Hat Hacker! From the title all the way through till the end! Henry is a sexy hacker trying to fit in with the Chicago Mafia. But deeper than that he wants to feel like he belongs somewhere and to something. He's a dominant, protective loyal man but very secretive. He thinks he can't love and doesn't want a real relationship because of a past bad experience. Mary is a beautiful sassy young lady. She has the biggest heart and because of that she finds her self in unsafe situations. She longs for a perfect love like the people around her have. Henry and Mary are awesome together! Their banter and their flirtation is adorable and their connection is heartwarming and strong. But due to both Henry and Mary being a part of The Syndicate there's always bound to be trouble and trouble finds them both. I loved reading Black Hat Hacker and seeing the love story of Henry and Mary and everything they go through and how the grow individually and as a couple. Ms. Naomi is an amazing writing. Her characters are well developed and have depths. The storylines are great and her books flow so well! Great book!
Soraya is a new to me author, and this is the first book I have read of hers.. This book is part of a series, but it can be read as a stand alone. I wasn't lost while reading this book, and I can say that I WILL be buying and reading the rest of the series. The story is as romantic as a mafia story can be, I couldn't put the book down and read it within a day, which was quite a feat as it is a long book - needless to say I didn't get much adulting done. I absolutely loved the characters, and enjoyed reading their journey to happiness, and I can't wait for the next book to be released.
