If you're a small business owner, you're no doubt already stressed, tired and overwhelmed and seriously don't have the time to read a business book. But... if you only read one business book - make it this one. Why? 1. It's a quick and easy read, that you will fly through in no time. 2. It's written in a logical and concise fashion. No babbling or unnecessary information. 3. It covers all areas of small business from self-care through to productivity, and marketing. 4. It's something you'll be able to keep on hand and refer back to. 5. If you are overwhelmed and lacking time, it will help you take the necessary steps to take control of your life and your business. Enough from me - get reading.
I have been following Kelly for a little while and have recently become hooked on her Straight and Curly podcast, so I was excited when she released 20 Simple Shortcuts to Small Business Success. I particularly enjoyed the format of this book as it was in short, sharp, easily digestible chunks and she got straight to the point with her tested tips, rather than waffling on about theories. This is a great book if you really are looking for simple solutions to improve your business. Thanks Kelly!
As someone who has just launched themselves into the exciting, yet often daunting, world of their own small business, I absolutely loved this book. So easy to read that I did so in one sitting, but that's due to the clear writing, not because it was 'light-on'. On the contrary, every part of the book was rich in ideas, relevant and useful for me and immediately actionable. The section on establishing routines was a particular 'light bulb moment' for me as a sole operator. Perfect for those just starting out in small business on their own, it will give you some great tips to easily action that will, in turn, boost your confidence.
This book is full of fantastic tips for all aspects of being a small business owner or sole trader. It covers marketing, financial stuff and scheduling, but also aspects such as health and exercise, which you might not associate with business success -- but of course if you're not healthy you won't have as much energy to put into your work. I read this book in one hit -- it's well-written and very easy to read -- but now plan to go through it again to pull out stuff that's especially relevant for me and my business. I'd recommend this book to anyone running their own business; I've learnt a lot from it already. Thanks, Kelly!
I think it's one of the most effective, straight to the point, motivational business strategy books I have read. I have implemented many new strategies into my business life, which in turn is helping me return to a balanced whole life. I would urge anyone feeling a little overwhelmed with their current situation to purchase and read this book. It will offer you an excellent, achievable starting point to get back on track - and fast!
If we did all the stuff that Kelly suggested (much of which we "know" we should be doing already) we would all live happier and healthier lives .. add to this to the business context and there is an improvement pretty much guaranteed. The book is clear and easy to read like all of Kelly's books. It makes good suggestions but written in a way that doesn't lecture - but rather suggests why this way might work for you too.
A simple and practical guide to running a successful business and leading a healthy and happy life. I'm a huge fan of Kelly's writing and love her authentic and easy to read style! It is clear that these are real life tips from someone who has been in the trenches running a successful business.
Such a simple but insightful book. Thoroughly enjoyed reading it and took away some very powerful messages. This lady is open and frank as well as showing incredible wisdom. Read it if you want some simple steps to small business success. The rest is up to you!
I found this book really helpful even though I am not a small business owner. Kelly explains her philosophy in a way that makes it so easy to apply to your day. In particular I found the section on routine really helpful. Will refer to this book in the future for sure!
Full of simple, smart logical advice, that when in the midst of starting up a new business is often overlooked or not paid attention too because of the demands of getting a successful business happening. I wish I had book this 12 months ago and in particular paid attention to Chapter 1.
