Great premise but doesn't meet expectations
24 December 2017
I really wanted to like this book. The premise was fascinating and I kept reading to find out what possible reason could drive a man to abandon his new wife on their honeymoon.
But the characters are one-dimensional and truly unlikeable. Alice is an insipid victim, Evelyn is a spoiled, selfish bored housewife who would rather break up two families than carry on the ordeal of her pampered existence. When I finally found out why Justin left April, the reason was so incredibly mundane that I wish I could have the hours I spent reading this book back.
