The shield wall took me into an ancient past. Sweat and blood with dust and rain; all in a jumble of numbed and hurt warriors fighting their way up and back down rivers in flood. The gritty past; bloody wounds half cared for and so much Viking death with deceit and loyalty mixed in with a care for the Viking age. Where is the next volume?
No matter how many books I read of James Nelson, I just can't put them down. He writes in a magnificent way about the Viking life, and just what people had to put up with their Lives. I just love it. May it never end. 😎
Cliffhanger after cliffhanger. Action action action. Battles, betrayals, twists and turns. Running, fighting and running and fighting, victory and defeat snatched away and returned all the way to the end. This is a non-stop ride.
