Finally a book that makes perfect sense. Anyone struggling with a low mood or depression should benefit from reading this book. After you read it once I urge you to read it again. The Author tells you exactly how to stay desperately unhappy by simply continuing to adopt a pattern of thinking and actions guaranteed to keep you in a sort of holding pattern of constant sadness and he explains very precisely why so many people stay committed to remaining sad. As I read this book I discovered I had adopted many of the 40 Strategies myself.
By focussing on what we do wrong on the path to happiness rather than trying to make us strive for an unachievable goal, this book does more to help us incrementally work our way towards life satisfaction than any "self-help" gospel you care to name. Giving a face to the demon makes it lose its power to scare us. Giving a name and voice to those things that we do to make ourselves miserable robs them of their power in the same way.
Don't hesitate. Just read this book. Then read it again.
