Quite a Few Limitations
27 April 2019
First the good and OK points:
Set up was easy
Connecting to home Wifi was straightforward and connecting to the built-in apps after Wifi connection was similarly straightforward.
Input video via thumb drive was fine and though the noise of the projector seemed loud, the audio was loud enough to drown it out.
Now the bad points:
Due to ambiguous description on the website it was not clear that you can neither connect your laptop or TV by Wifi or Bluetooth. Nor can you connect an external hard drive, computer, device or laptop by USB . The USB ports on the projector will only input thumb drives.
There is no Bluetooth input possible at all. The Bluetooth is only for connecting external speakers - but my Bluetooth speakers could not connect for some inexplicable reason though they connect to my tablet with no trouble at all.
The Wifi is only for connecting the projector to the home network. You cannot connect any output device directly by Wifi or Bluetooth. If you buy a separate WIfi HDMI dongle you can apparently connect your mobile or tablet by Wifi but I cannot vouch for the efficiency of the mobile/tablet connection as I only have Wifi USB dongles and I did not want to buy a Wifi HDMI dongle . Unless you wanted to show a heck of a lot of personal photos from your phone I can't really see why you want to bother with this .
So in summary:
Unless you have a laptop with HDMI or VGA jacks then you cannot connect your laptop or an external drive to this projector in any way at all. If you are happy to use the projector in your office or location where you have your desktop computer then you can connect via other jacks.
If you have a relatively new laptop with only USB and USB C output/inputs then the only option is to transfer movies/video to a thumb drive. I have many TB of movies and documentaries loaded on external drive and the thought of systematically transferring all of that to thumb drives was too much.
Due to the ambiguous description, I was imagining a wonderful time of Wifi streaming of video from my laptop or from my external drives via USB connection. But none of that was possible.
