First I think I should say that I love everything that Jennifer writes! The Problem with Forever was no exception. there is so much I want to say but I don't want to give anything away! For me this is one of those of books that makes me want to hug the people who I love and who love me a little tighter tonight and thank them for not giving up.
If you are thinking about reading this book you definitely should, I promise you won't regret it.
TBH - I am extremely Jennifer Armentrout biased! (shhhhhhh)
There were so many elements to this story that drew me in - like a spider web that trapped you in the web without you even realizing it was in front of you!
Mallory and Rider had been in a foster home together when they were younger and through those troubled years had formed a connection that couldn't be broken, even after a 4 year separation.
When they are reunited at high school that connection and feelings they had for one another hadn't lessened over time...
It was beautiful how Jennifer Armentrout interlaced their story with this deep seeded 'white knight' complex for Rider and how his protector role with Mallory "Mouse" had grown and developed through the years....
Oh and did I mention he sounds HOT! Like really really HOT! (Just sayin')
It was awesome just reading and feeling their connection grow into something so much more mature and grown-up as the book progressed!
I have a weird thing for 'victim-ish' scenarios and the main male characters being the hero in stories but the one thing I loved loved loved about this book was how, near the end of the pages, it was Mallory who became the hero for Rider and it was Mallory who found the conviction to become more than what she was living and stop being afraid of being stuck in the fear of time standing still".
I love a good guy / slight rebel main character but underneath it all surely nothing beats a girl becoming a woman overcoming past obstacles to be her own hero and ultimately someone else's as well!
Still props to Jennifer Armentrout for once again creating a story that sucks you in and leaves you feeling fulfilled at the turn of the last page....
oh and.... lets be honest peeps - hot, rebel boys saving and loving girls with all they have is ALWAYS a winner for me!!!!
Really lets be honest (again) - its never anything less for the amazingly talented Jenifer L Armentrout!!!!
Brilliant! Ms Armentrout is a master of words - she tackled several difficult issues with sensitivity, empathy and realism, while interlacing it with a sweet, heart-warming romance. This is a story about believing in yourself and in others, dealing with the past and creating the future of your dreams. It is beautiful, poignant, emotional and a must-read.
