I expected so much more from this book after reading the blurb but it was one MASSIVE disappointment.
I have never given such a low rating before but this book needs and deserves it. A good idea that was not followed on. The descriptive sentences left much to be desired.
Very slow going, I felt like I was wading through mud. Full of too much angst, self-abasement with very little action until the very end.
These twelve guardians had supposedly locked themselves away from everyone for hundreds of years instead of protecting those they were meant too and keeping the peace. Their mansion is falling into disrepair but they have the latest cars in the garage.
I expected big tough guardians and got sick weak puppies. The only ones with any gumption and life were Xael and Zadoc. Some of the guardians hardly appear in this book even though there is a big battle in their house.
The lot of women in this series is ridiculously dire, only good for cooking, cleaning and F-ing, being traded to vampires and demons or used and ignored. I really lost the plot when a wolf agreed to leave his mate and newborn baby behind as they would slow the pack down. I should have stopped reading then. Not my kind of shifter story.
Then when Marcus came to save her, Abriel acted like a complete nitwit. She is all strong and tough through the book to save her sister but she was going to stay with the bad guy. WTF and Abriel was all boo hoo, it’s my fault my sister has been held captive and hurt. NO, it is her spineless, gutless father who SOLD Rowan and their mother to the scumbags.
The ending was so over dramatized as to be stupid.
The spelling mistakes were so abundant as to be ridiculous, who proof read this.
Will not be reading any more.
