A rich and complex story set in the fictional, but oh so real town of Bindarra Creek. Believable characters, a mystery, and a most unlikely love affair, makes for a great read. I love the way the townsfolk interact with the main characters, infusing the story with warmth, humour, and reality. Beautifully written, and a terrific plot. Loved it.
Another great story in this series set in the New England Tablelands ... honouring her adoptive mother's dying wish, veterinary nurse Samantha Quinn and her young brother head to Bindarra Creek in search of Annie, Sam's birthmother. Sam's likeness to another Bindarra Creek resident soon stirs up curiosity and resentment in the little town ... and Samantha finds herself in the centre of a century long family feud and she's torn between loyalty to the town's hunky cop and the family that 's bound and determined to claim her as one of their own... I would have given it five stars but at times I was bewildered and lost among the host of secondary characters ... had there been less of them, the story would have had a lot more punch, but apart from this small distraction I found Tempting Fate another great read ... and I loved revisiting he little town I'm growing to like.
When I buy a new book in this series, I love that there are all these new visitors coming to Bindarra Creek. I find it's one of the many pleasures that's keeping the interest going in this series, for me. This story had a bite of intrigue, as well as folklore and mystery. A great addition to the series. I loved Samantha Quinn's (heroine) bold character and that she fund her match with that of Senior sergeant Riley Morgan (hero) The twist in the family history was well incorporated. Good Story Erin Moira O'Hara
