Autumn Jones Lake has written another outstanding story with White Heat, the fifth book in the Lost Kings series. Her characters are full of emotions; they are passionate and full of life. She has the ability to draw you into the scenes to such a degree that it's easy to invest in the characters & see them as friends or family. Her women can be strong, opinionated, funny, loving & even bitchy; they can also be soft, flirty, tentative, silly & annoying. The men can be full on Alpha, loving deeply with passion, tough as nails as well as soft, gentle and deeply caring.
There is unexpected turmoil in White Heat that comes as a shock to all involved. The unthinkable happens - Rock goes to jail, leaving Wrath. & Z to hold the club together while Hope digs deep to stay positive & strong to support her man. The whole crew pull together to solve this crisis & relationship strengthen between the Lost Kings members. There are surprising twists but ultimately there is love & laughter for Hope & Rock & also Wrath & Trinity; wry humour from Z & Murphy; a possible development with Murphy, Heidi, Axel. Teller may be interested in a young woman who was rescued from the Vipers; Z is seeing Lily; who knows what will happen next?
Autumn Jones Lake has another hit on her hands. The King finally gets his Queen. Rock knew Hope was his the first time he laid eyes on her. Nothing was going to stop this wedding. The love between Rock and Hope continues to deepen. I have read all the books in this series and feel as if I'm a part of these characters lives. Well written romance, lots of hot sexy tattooed men, action, strong intelligent women. This has it all. Highly recommend. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hi Autumn, I just wanted to leave my review to let you know how in love I am with each of the lost kings MC books. You've done such an amazing job writing each one, each book is unique and unlike other books it doesn't cycle the same drama over and over, I find that these books have kept me completely on edge while reading the series and I could not be more happy to read each one, each book has kept me up from night until morning (I've even fell asleep with my phone app for kindle still open and in my hand) you are truly a great author and I'm excited to read more from you. Kind regards Jess
I loved Hope and Rock to see them finally get their HEA was amazing. But what a long road they had without giving anything away. It was wonderful seeing Hope stand by her man with everything that happened it showed how strong she was waiting until she was alone to break down. Trinity and Wrath what can I say but was happy she's finally an old lady. Autumn thank you for your amazing stories.
Pure MC romance perfection! This series has kept the intensity and depth throughout every single book. In White Heat we aren't focused on just one couple, but both Rock/Hope AND Wrath/Trinity. PLUS we get just enough of Murphy, Teller and Z to make us anxious for their own books!
The love between Rock and Hope is tested to its limits in this story. If anyone had doubts about whether she could pull off being a good 'old lady' before, they definitely won't now. She proved herself in ways that surprised and impressed the hell out of me. I already loved her, but after this? She definitely showed she's worth a man like Rock. It wasn't easy, and there were times she was hurting so bad she didn't know if she could go on but she stepped up and did what she knew was best for Rock. Not once did he think about herself or how to make herself happier during this ordeal. Instead she focused on her man and his club family, both of which would not have come out the other side as intact and whole as they did if it hadn't been for Hope.
Wrath and Trinity are new when this story starts and she's still working on dealing with her feelings of insecurity and inferiority. Wrath, bless his heart, would give that girl the sun, moon and stars if he thought that would make her realize just how lovable, loving and genuine she truly is. Trinity is a caring friend and selfless lover, but because of her past she has trouble seeing that about herself sometimes. Luckily she's surrounded by people who are committed to making her feel loved and who won't stop at anything to prove it.
Two things stuck out at me the most while reading this book. The first is that THIS is what girls should be like. Any of you that know me know that there are very few female main characters that I like. I was beginning to think that it was me with my own issues until I read this book and realized that yes, there are other people who think the same way I do when it comes to how to treat your man. Hope and Trinity are perfect examples of supporting their man through thick and thin, forgiving them when they're sorry without requiring endless amounts of groveling, trusting their man over everyone else, and being willing to sacrifice their own happiness in exchange for their man's happiness. They're role models for us readers, even though they're fictional characters.
The second thing I kept seeing was how the members of the club really came together during this time of crisis. The men of the Lost Kings have the same amount of respect for Hope and Trinity as Rock and Wrath do. They'd gladly lay down their lives if it meant their brother wouldn't have to lose his woman. There were instances in this book for both of these girls where members of the club said exactly the right thing during a time of pain that made them realize they were a part of the club family too. Hope could have easily been 'kicked to the curb' and left to spiral into a deep depression but no way would the MC brothers allow that to happen. They all took it to heart to treat her as they knew Rock would want her treated and because of that he didn't have to worry about her during a time he needed to be focused on other things.
I love this series, and knowing that there are at least 3 more books that I'm aware of still to come thrills me to no end. I could read about the Lost kings every day and be a happy person.
