Finally the bits I felt needed more detail in book 1 are explained. The characters are more developed and Sera's purpose/background is more credibly written. The plot pacing felt right and balanced the witty dialogue. I wanted more info about Riley, and 3/4 through the book, but I'm guessing we'll learn more about him - and the commandos - in future books. Well worth reading book one in the series because of its links to this book, but this book is so much better and more enjoyable. 4.5/5.
The Dragon Born Series by Ella Summers is one of the best series around. It draws you into the story to the point that you can't get enough, and end up wanting to strangle Ella (Joking here, but you get my point), for not publishing new books fast enough. In my view that makes this series a must read.
In the book Sera, faces the magic games where the game master forces her to demonstrate the power of her magic, despite her resistance. Mean while she has to help save the 'damned Magic Council' to stop an evil power overtaking the world.
This is just as good as the Legion of Angels series. I felt the first book in this series wasn't of the same calibre as the Angels books, but this kicked butt. Action, Chao, mayhem, a funny, snarky mage & a devastatingly desirable dragon mixed in with Hunger Games type challenges. Excellent book!
