Hal and his brother work so hard they own a saw mill and have finally made a profit! John has just told Hal that he has sent for a mail Order bride. Hal is upset because he feels that there is not enough time in the days as it is and another mouth to feed is going to be very hard. His brother John is very happy and tells Hal that the benefits of having a woman around will help them. John is killed as he is delivering a lumber shipment when the wagon breaks and tumbled over on John.

Nancy’s answers the advertisement for Johns bride. She is only 16 and will be seventeen in a few months. She didn’t want to marry the man her father picked out, her sister lives that man so she runs away. Upon arrival she learns John has passed away.

Now she has gotten her self into a situation with Hal, he tried to send her back but she refuses.

I enjoyed reading this book! I didn’t tell you everything, you will have to get this book to see what really happens!
