Turmoil in the House of Windsor
15 May 2015
It's not easy to add to the large amount of writings about this fascinating struggle within the house of Windsor when the Royal Archives have done their best to remove the details from public view. However, I found Morton's account tantalisingly took the reader closer to the truth than most other s have been able to achieve. The role played by the women, the Queens Mary and Elizabeth, in their detestation of Mrs Simpson is always fascinating. The reader is left with little doubt that Edward was weak, extremely naive and gullible to the approaches from the Nazis. Had he not abdicated the World may well be in a different shape right now.
