I read this because a download link popped up on my Facebook feed, and the cover and title looked interesting. I was pleasantly surprised to find a fast paced, intriguing, fantasy novel with a lot of potential for series. Well worth the read!
This is an interesting story with fast passed narrative that hooks the reader in. The author style of writing is vivid. The descriptions of places and things are clear. There is a sense of darkness and dread, and the character of Tristan (heir to the House of Listar) brings light and hope to the story. The blooming romance between a prince and a smith's beautiful daughter gives wonderful texture to the story. The intense action between the brothers gives exciting weave to the plot. All this is a good balance, and the story gets better as you progress reading the book. A Coronation of Kings is an enjoyable book by a new, young, and talented author.
I was asked to read this story for an honest review...I have not been paid, as this is against all principles of what a review should be.
Set in a fantasy world, twin boys are separated at birth, so we learn of the twists and turns of their lives.
The tale is one of adventure, sorcery, power, betrayal and love...and more. It is well-written, with a good sense of place and interesting characters. It's not altogether original, however, is still worth a look.
