I absolutely LOVED this series & then Rachel puts them all into a boxset, with an exclusive bonus....squeeee moment here. I have included my individual reviews for the books inside this collection.
Lexia, bk 1.... Hmmm I'm not really sure why I hadn't read this series yet... I've kept putting it off for some reason. With the recent release of book 3 I thought it was about time to start. But having finally read 'Lexia', I now know why... Rachel & her cliffhanger, I got to the end & BAM what a major cliffy! I would have been hounding Rachel for the finished series on a daily basis. 'Lexia' is book 1 in Rachel's "The Deadwood Hunter" series & I would advise you read this baby first.... seriously you don't want to miss out. I loved everything about this book, from the interractions between all the characters, to the action & paranormal creatures. We get to read how Lexia's life turned upside down & how she turned her life around. What an AMAZINGLY CAPTIVATING read. Thank you Rachel, I loved 'Lexia'!!
Whispers of Darkness, bk 2.... I finally had a chance to read 'Whispers of Darkness'.... hot damn, I started this book & was instantly back in the lives of Lexia & Lincoln. I found myself enthralled to the magic that was on the page. I highly recommend you read 'Lexia' book 1 of "The Deadwood Hunter" Trilogy first, as 'Whispers of Darkness' follows on straight away. I had tears in my eyes a few times throughout the books, some of the scenes where emotional (or maybe it's just me??)... You know Rachel finished book 1 'Lexia' with a MAJOR cliffhanger, do you think she did the same for this book?? The answer would be HELL YEAH! You arrive at the end of the book uncertain at HOW everything is going to end... if Lexia will end her mothers rein in the hunters, if Lincoln wont give up completely on the tiny mating bond they share... I loved this second book in the Trilogy, just as much as book 1, it was just as AMAZING & CAPTIVATING as 'Lexia'! I have book 3 awaiting me to devour & I'm hoping to get it read ASAP. Thank you Rachel for the magic you weaved in this action packed, paranormal love story...
Holocaust, bk 3.... What can I say about 'Holocaust'??? HOLY COW.... Rachel finished off her "The Deadwood Hunter" series with so much action & angst, dragging me into the story within the first chapter. I highly recommend you grab yourselves a copy of the series, starting at Lexia & devour the magic writen by Rachel. I'd forgotten to live whilst reading this book, I swear my heart stopped at times. The things Lexia had seen or made to do whilst under the control of the Hunters where bad, sometimes downright scary... especially being that her mother is the leader & creator of them all. Lexia can't live with her choice & so hids behind the facade of Maura, still teathered only slightly to Linc, while Maura is in charge. I found parts of this book so emotional, it was terrible for me... I could barley see from the tears or breathe through my nose... tissue box was on my lap! This whole series was UNBELIEVABLY AMAZING... now I can't wait for more books from Rachel. Thank you Rachel, even though you made me cry (although I think you like doing that) this was an ending for the series that was unexpected but wonderful all in one.
Betrayal, (Exclusive bonus).... This novella is all about Alice, her POV about what happens... not going to spoil any of this for you.
