Can Kat and Bass Make a Life together and what of their fathers both Alphas of Packs that hate each other....I suggest you read it and find out....
I felt an instant connection with these characters and although the storyline was a little Romeo and Juliet.. Ms Raithby made it unique an her own.
An Enjoyable read that has left me wanting more.. looking forward to reading more by Ms Raithby and more in the New Dawn Series...
This is the first of Rachel's books that I've read & let me tell you.... it was fantastic!! I couldn't put it down, I started it late last night & finished it just after 3am this morning. I love when the heroine is strong & sticks up for herself. It was almost like reading 'Romeo & Juliet'.... Two house holds, both alike in dignity..... Anyway that's what I felt it was like at the start. But it's sooo very different.
Katalina is thrown into a world competely different to what she is used to, on the night of her 18th birthday. Werewolfs are real, Kat is also a werewolf, she's the daughter of an alpha & there's a war between 2 packs that she's found herslf in the middle of. Throughout the story Kat is learning about herself, her new family & trying to figure out exactly where she belongs. I loved the interaction between the characters, I especially loved the kinship of Kat & her Germain Shepard 'Arne' there wasn't a moment throughout that he was forgotten.
I LOVED this book from the opening scene till the epilogue, it held me in a trance until the ending...I can't wait till book 2 of this series Rachel, you have an avid follower here!
27/10/2015 Congratulations to Rachel on being picked up by #Skyscape I am currently reading my copy of the Re-edited version of #WinterWolf and its just as awesome as ever, tighter and more polished, I get to fall in love with Bass all over again and look for the new content in the re-edited version.
This book is great for all readers - Teen to the Adults who never want to grow up and loose that wonder of young love and Paranormal romance.
Seriously I will read YA until I croak - its one of my favourite Genre.
The thing that I most liked about this book is that the story is that the heroine Katalina (Kat) is not a simpering girl, she is thrown into circumstances beyond her control, but she soon finds her feet, sticks to her principles and copes admirably when she finds out where her true parentage lies.
Kat isn't going to cower down to her Birth Father's demands, no one is going to tell her who she can love... and she has some nice hunky shifters to choose from too ;)
Bass - well Drool! there were so many bits I highlighted or that brought a lump to my throat, there is a bit of sadness with Kat's parents dying and the funeral. But overall its a great love story.
Both Bass and Kat are determined to stay together, and end the feud that has decimated both packs, but it won't be easy for them either.
The supporting cast are great too, and that is another thing I loved about it, we get to know a little about the members of the two Waring packs and I am dying to read book 2,3... (I hope that these characters Bug Rachel constantly so we can continue to delve into their world) and where we will no doubt catch up with Kat and Bass.

As to Ms Raithby's writing, I have watched it develop from her first series The Deadwood Hunter Series which is her Adult Paranormal Series, and I can see the confidence and growth in this new series. I for one can't wait for the next book to come from Ms Raithby, I love her imagination.
I am sure after you have read this book you will too.
This is the first book that I have read by Rachel M Raithby and it will definitely not be my last. Winter Wolf is a tender, beautifully written love story interwoven in a paranormal theme.
I loved the main characters, Kat and Bass. Katalina is smart and brave, yet fragile and vulnerable. She has many tough decisions to make when she is thrust into an unfamiliar werewolf world while trying to deal with her overwhelming grief. Enter Bass, who is her rock and gives Kat the strength and support that she needs. Bass is everything that a girl could wish for – handsome, strong, loyal and compassionate.
My favourite quotes from the book:
His limbs tangled around hers; his arms a protective cage. The warmth from his bare skin seeped into her, like the most intimate blanket.
“I’m still not sure if I fit in this world.” “It doesn’t matter. We’ll make the world fit you.”
I was drawn into the story from the first page and it kept my rapt attention until the end. The plot is smooth flowing with strong, memorable characters. It is a truly heart-warming, thoroughly enjoyable read.
I would recommend this book for lovers of young adult paranormal romance.
