Kept me guessing until the end.....
7 May 2016
David Sloan is a highly respected defense lawyer and a family man. His childhood was dumbfounding and eerie. He blotted out those haunting memories for many years, but now they come back to haunt him. He is now a well-known defense lawyer and wins his cases with creativity and skill. In this exhilarating legal thriller, Sloan practices law within the law; however, he may also, if the occasion warrants, take the law into his own hands to right what he deems a wrong.
Sloan has just won a case that netted his client, and himself, a huge victory and mega bucks. He immediately agrees to look at a case in which the widow of a soldier killed in Iraq believes her husband's death might not have happened if he had been provided the proper body armor. The case, in all probability is a lost cause since the husband was a soldier killed in an enemy ambush and was wearing the same body armor as other soldiers. Sloan takes the case anyway. There just seems to be something suspicious surrounding the whole incident.
The storyline is an intriguing one with lots of twists and turns and switch-backs thrown in for suspenseful reading. There is enough cringing occurrences to label this a thriller. I found it exhilarating, but with numerous highly improbable happenings. It grabbed hold immediately and held on, for the most part, and certainly kept me guessing until the end.
