Poignant, moving and insightful account of living with an eating disorder. Terrifying at times and a real eye-opener into the psychological and physical impacts of having such a parasitic disease. Rachael's writing gives hope to anyone suffering from this type of illness and encourages carers in their support of friends and family with eating disorders. This book certainly helped to change my perception and see the light at the end of the tunnel for some of my close friends. A very balanced, real account.
Rachael's honest, gripping portrayal of her experience battling anorexia is powerful and stays with you long after you turn the last page. I couldn't put the book down, and her language is so beautifully poetic, painting a richly honest and raw picture of her journey. What I loved most about the book was that it is ultimately a story of hope, showing that it is possible to overcome mental illness and Rachael concludes with some really practical keys to recovery. An incredible story.
This book is the graphic account of a young woman's winning struggle to overcome illnesses that affect many. It will bring hope to all who read it and give encouragement to those going through similar circumstances. Many pages brought tears to my eyes.
