I only just finished this book & since the film is out later this year I felt I needed to learn all about it. This is a fantastic read with excellent writing & great insides to all characters who took part & mostly to the wise, flawed & crazy Tommy. It's also a great story about the goings on & the hardship out of work actors face everyday. Mostly it's about the film "the room'....The writing really puts you there & the frustration of the crew...I felt like I was one of them! I can't praise this book enough.....readers should read this, actors should read this....filmmakers, muso's, directors....Everybody should read this!!
This is by far my most favourite book. I have never cried so hard with laughter in my life. At one point, I couldn’t breathe. The reason this book is so funny is because this is real! Anybody who has seen The Room or has watched Tommy in anything; knows that this man exists and can easily read every quote in his voice.
It was incredible to read so much about the man and the insanity of the production. It was awesome to hear Greg’s story and also how his perception of who and what Tommy is change.
I’d recommend this book to anybody who wishes to die from laughter.
I love The Room and the story behind it makes the film even better. Honest, funny and so strange that you almost can't believe this really happened, this account of the making of the movie is brilliant.
Downloaded this book after watching the movie and read it in two days. It's such an interesting story about a movie that logically should never have existed. I'd definitely recommend it to anybody who is interested in film, or even just bizzarre stories.
I laughed, I grimaced, I cringed. Strangely at times I was sad, in the end I was happy. Tommy Wisau ( Wissow? Wissaah? ) is in the strangest of ways, a hero. Enduring The Room for the first time was a profoundly baffling experience. Now, how and why this bizzare film came into existence makes a little more sense.
