I love this series, but this is one of my favourites! Roni was so endearing in the previous book, i needed to know her story. I needed to know more about her. You just can't help but fall in love with her. Whats fantastic about this series is that even though you finish a book the characters don't stop developing. Their stories continue on in the next book. You're not left wondering what happened to them or how their story ends. I am completely addicted!! Thankyou Suzanne Wright for sharing your wonderful mind with us! Btw i totally recommend this book if you are a fan of shapeshifter, romance and intrigue
Wow....just wow! I was so undecided whether or not I was going to read this one, especially as book 3 in the series really disappointed me and in my opinion was a bit pricey. So very glad I took a chance as I loved this one and it's by far my favourite! Love me some Marcus! It started out action packed and continued that way throughout the book. I'm so happy to say that I didn't skim a word once! Roni was such a socially inept genius and I absolutely loved and adored her. She had me laughing with her one liners and useless facts that she spouted whenever she'd had enough conversation! Marcus was a delight and it was so great to see other sides of him that we haven't seen from him before, he suited Roni perfectly. When they got together they certainly steamed up the pages. To those of you who were also disappointed with the last one, take a chance on book 4 as you wont regret it! Looking forward now to the next in the series.
Suzanne Wright never disappoints, her easy and effortless style draws you in and gets you hooked. All of her characters are relatable, and draw you in to caring about them. Suzanne is fast becoming one of my favourite authors of his genre. A+++ Cant wait for the next instalment of the Phoenix Pack
Very enjoyable story with truly likeable characters. Great having the two packs working together to deal with some nasty jackals. Not knowing it was a spin off series, I had read the first Mercury Pack book so I am ahead of what is happening in this book. Now I am up to date and will be continuing in reading order rather than series order. Having read these books straight through I found this so similar to the previous books with the same synopsis of situations and problems. A nasty woman who likes to belittle others. Then we get some other woman drama as well as the bond not forming due to emotional blocks. After the lack lustre heroine in the last book I was wary of continuing. Luckily Roni is a great heroine with a quirky attitude I adored. Lots of laugh out loud moments for me with Roni and her smart mouth and her performing some real antics. Marcus has depths that we finally get to see. So nice how he was so focused on Roni. Great having the two packs working together to deal with some nasty jackals. Loved how the women dealt with the female jackal. Trick being the voice of reason was interesting. Once again mummy issues and weird parents seem to abound. Of course these parents are the cause of the H’s emotional blockage to their bonding. Roni’s mother is a nasty woman who likes to belittle her daughter. Marcus’s mother is just plain nuts. Glad he told his father he was not interested. It was a bit too easy to know who was part of SNM and had uploaded the video of Roni’s Attack. Read through KU whilst also flicking and listening to the audible version too. I have to say the narrator for this book was one of the best with an enjoyable narration. Lots of inflections and I could tell most of the characters apart.
Marcus is an enforcer that oozes power but Roni is lethal is her own right and the sexual awareness crackling between them may be intoxicating but it’s also deeply annoying since Marcus has singled her out to make her sit up and beg in this thrilling paranormal romance.
Marcus can tell that Roni wants him no matter how aloof and unfazed she acts and the readers can’t help but enjoy the tiptoeing kind of courtship that ensues as Marcus takes advantage of having to work together to chip away at her defenses. The chemistry sizzles from every page but the relationship is a cauldron of blustery emotions as they both are a bit reserved in the relationship department due to various personal issues from the past which of course means that the intensity of their connection takes them both by surprise and causes some fun and chuckles to go along with all the passion and turmoil. These strong compelling characters are easily related to and capture the heart while they demand reader’s attentions while the fast paced and smooth flowing plot thrills readers with lots of suspense, excitement and romance.
Not only does the romance between Marcus and Roni keep anticipation building throughout the story it also causes quite a bit of chaos among pack members which was already full of some snarky dialogue and ribbing but the adrenaline pumping excitement comes from the two packs being targeted by a jackal pack that they soon learn has some evil schemes in motion. The well written scenes are so full of vivid details that readers can easily picture all of the scenes as well as get to know the characters which keeps them glued to the pages.
Another exhilarating visit with the packs kept me completely ensnared in Marcus and Roni’s romance, there were just so right for each other and I just loved how the mating and falling in love part just kind of surprised everyone including them and I can’t wait to visit the packs again.
I adored Roni the quirky werewolf. Her feisty, don't need to fit in attitude and intelligence/ferocity make her one fantastic enforcer. Couple that with all that the delicious Marcus and you've got quite a pair. Plenty of action, laughs and feelings in this one. This PNR series gets better with every book.
