This was a great installment to the series full of emotion and huge slap of reality.
Motherhood although amazing can bring with it the side effects of baby blues, depression and sometimes even helplessness.
Kadence goes through her own version and getting her help will be a challenge in itself.
Nix did amazingly as the new dad and new husband and kept loving his wife no matter, he handled it believably.
Overcoming her new body shape and the fact they haven't reconnected in a long time can also be daunting. River Savage made an important addition to her Knights Rebels series and I applaud her story and giver her the five stars it most heartily deserves.
A Fabulous addition to the series one that I have grown to love more with each installment.
I will MOST definitely be continuing on with this series!!!!!!!
Broaching a topic that some of us are lucky enough not to go through during our child bearing years. For those that have, reading this has made me realise that some of us suffer greatly and sometimes when it gets to much you just give up and that can destroy a very precious bond. In this instance though, River has shown what love, devotion and the will to fight for the one you hold true in your heart and soul and yes reclaiming what you never want to lose. I have loved Nix and Kadence story from the very beginning and to see the tough Biker Daddy and his softer side is just as amazing his dominant alpha male side. Kadence who has always come across as so strong and unflappable and to see her desperate and scared of not being a good mother and wife is heart wrenching, but it shows that even the strongest have a breaking point. River you have done an amazing job of letting people know and to some extent understand some of the issue with Postpartum Depression in this novella. It has been an amazing read and it is definitely worth 5 stars. Congratulations, well done.
When I read a MC series I always find myself falling for the next character more than the last... It was the way with Sy, how could you not? However... This book solidifies my appreciation for Nix once again. at least until Jesse shows up ÃÃ,°Y~
Reading the teasers that River post on her FB page and knowing what the story was about, I thought I'd have a hard time connecting with what Kadence was going through. I don't know anything about it and I've never known anyone to go through it etc... In the beginning I did struggle a bit, but then I got it from a different angle... Feeling alone when you're surrounded by people who love you coz u think they don't understand, like you don't know what ur doing... And from then on, watching Nix step up and be everything she needed... His strength blew me away. It's characters like him that ruin me for real life... #foreveralone lol
I saw a lot of people mention they cried... So I waited, sometimes I am a bit of a crier... And it came alright, but where I least expected it... I just read straight threw to the very end and when I read that little quote about giving up, I just lost it lol
Wow this was written with great emotion Kadence is is having what I would call post-natal depression and both her and Nix are finding it hard to come to terms with it, neither of them no how to handle it, while this is going on the club carry's on. Loved it.
What can I say but truly powerful and confronting. This is one book that goes beyond a normal novel it confronts many issues that a new mother would be feeling and how they deal with different situations...A masterful piece of work, loved the way the author kept a great storyline going throughout. Brilliant River Savage
After personally suffering from PND with my second child, I found this novella perfect. Similar to Kadence, I also knew something was wrong, but refused to admit it to myself or anyone until husband and friend basically shook it out of me and made me go to the doctors.
The way River wrote about the emotions and feelings going through Kadence's mind was spot on and felt so real that I found myself nodding my head reminding myself that I also felt exactly like that.
Post Natal Depression is a very common thing and nowhere near written about as much as it should be so for a Novella to have such a positive spin on the situation was awesome to read.
I throughly enjoyed the story and would recommend to everyone to read especially if you have read the rest of series Book 1 Incandescent & Book Affliction.
What can I say about this book other than .... Wow River ... good job on a hard subject ... Kadence and her struggles after having her baby and Nix and his struggle to try and understand the change in Kadence ... you really nailed the pain and sadness that they both felt
Such a realistic look at post-natal depression. River Savage shines a light on this cruel disease that effects to many lives and looks at it from all angles, afflicted, loved ones and outsiders. A very emotional and truthful read!
