Social Intelligence is meant to be just a simple practical guide on improving social life but its far more than that.
What readers are investing time and money in is a book on human psychology, basics, that we do not practice at all today, then it steps the game up a bit and evolves into something more, retaining its simplicity of style and easy flow of language.
I can easily see a book like this revolutionizing the society around us. Its groundbreaking, packed with information, easy to apply practical principles and simple life lessons about society and the social world around us that will not only force us to change our perspective but become the greatest versions of ourselves. Its literally life- transforming.
The great author, Jonny Bell, has done previous books very similiar yet "Social Intelligence" stands amongst his finest literary works.
This is a well-researched and interesting book on a very stimulating subject. My science background always makes me a little skeptical when behavioral models are discussed because they tend to be a bit too vague for my liking. However, it's very interesting to see how the very large concept of "social intelligence" is broken down into more digestible fragments in this book.
This is clearly a very-well researched discussion on a subject of great importance to anyone who finds themselves uncomfortable in social settings. At the very least, this work will give you something to focus on rather than your own anxiety, and I believe that the ability to navigate social scenarios comfortably is something that can be developed over time.
This book is also of use to people who feel comfortable in social settings as there are sure to be a few tricks that you'd never considered. Recommended.
Jonny Bell doesn't claim to be a licensed therapist in his bio, but he is a communicator of what he's learned studying psychology. In simple, human terms, Bell gives you information you can use, experiments you can try. Social Intelligence: A Practical Guide to Social Intelligence: Communication Skills - Social Skills - Communication Theory - Emotional Intelligence - [Kindle Edition] is Bell's heartfelt attempt to give the reader the keys to the controlling their own behavior, and to some extent teh behavior of others, in social situations. Such subjects as how to take control of a room full of people are on his agenda.
If you enjoy using your own body and mind as your laboratory, you'll enjoy trying the techniques Bell offers, to help you be come at ease, even commanding, in social intercourse.
Social Intelligence is an informational guide that delivers hands-on information to help you understand what social intelligence is, and improve it. Bell writes with flair and knowledge. Which makes this book a step above others I've read in this field.
Knowing how to respond positively to posed questions is extremely important when communicating. You're either closing or opening a door. Bell shows you how to open them.
Your social skills are extremely important in life success. This book delivers the tools and take-action instruction to know how to improve your social intelligence.
I recommend you grab this book and let the author know what you think - Great Stuff!
I found this self-help book quite useful. I’ve never been good at communicating (at least I think so) and tend to not socialize as much as I could, due to my lack of ‘people skills’. I get invited to events all the time, but usually decline, as I tend to keep to myself. But after reading this book, I want to put these newly learned social skills to work. I liked “The focus of your results” element. Author Jonny Bell did an amazing job of putting together excellent examples and simple steps, and that alone gave me more confidence. I highly recommend this helpful book to anyone who has doubts of their ability to communicate in a positive manner.
We're social creatures. The quality of our lives are largely made up by the social interactions that we engage in, and in learning how to best convey our dreams and hopes, as well as understanding other people's desires, we can finally begin to make our mark in this world. And the world will be a better place because of it. Personally I strongly believe we need more social intelligence in this world, and reading this book just made that so much more clear to me.
Social Intelligence: A Practical Guide to Social Intelligence by Author Jonny Bell is a very well written and well researched book. There is a great deal of info in this book that will help anyone who wants to feel more confident or who deals with people on a daily basis. Understanding how social intelligence works will help you understand how to use it to your own advantage to dramatically improve your social skills.
Good introduction to the concept of social intelligence. The theory of multiple intelligencies has been around for a while but it's only (relatively) recently that the concept of emotional intelligence has become a discussion concept in education and in society at large. Social intelligence is a subset of emotional intelligence, defining how we interact with others. This book provides a good introduction to this concept, with plenty of practical suggestions.
