I fell in love with this story. My daughter wanted to find some reading material for her phone which she'd never done b4. And she read aloud to me .I had to get it myself and i finshed it b4 her. Can't wait till I can read the rest of the series.
I liked the story line although it wasn't as engaging as other authors I've read. A young adult would probably like it but I'm a bit older than that. I did like how supportive and accepting Crystal's friends are
Crystal finds herself developing strong psychic abilities and at first she thinks it's all random but when she finally tells her mum, the truth of the familial legacy comes out.
Olivia keeps appearing to her and she needs to try to understand why and how to use her abilities to help. Emma and Derek are her ever present best friends and they eventually embrace Crystal and her new found "super power".
Keeping in mind that this book is written for the YA audience, I thought that the story flowed well. It also opens eyes to a very topical and important issue in society today. I won't spoil this review with saying what it is, sufficed to say that I thought the character behaviours with regard to it were believable.... Any more detail and I would question whether the content is really appropriate for YA.
Alicia Rades has done an amazing job bringing the town of Peyton Springs to life with a wonderful cast of characters. I would definitely recommend this to people who like YA paranormal mysteries.
