I gave five-star ratings to Paul Hartfords book "Waiter to the Rich and Shamless, Confessions of a Five-Star Beverly Hills Server. Why? As you will read, this book is not just a peek into the secretive inner workings of a legendary 5-star restaurant but also a top-tier waiter's personal coming-of-age story. It is a close look into the difficult challenges of serving in the country's most prestigious dining room while fighting to maintain a sense of confidence and trust. The author, Paul Hartford himself is referred as "Pauli" in the book. Paul describes his life as a musician who hasn't achieved his objectives he has dreamed of. Then how would he make a living? He decides to have his long hair cut off so he can become first, a bartender then a waiter to the rich and shameless at a 5 star restaurant in Beverly Hills. What else he does? What happens next? You must read the book to find out but I can say with great confidence that you will not be disappointed. Highly recommended.
