I love a murder mystery with a good plot and no gratuitous violence. This book ticked those boxes for me. However, I found it unrealistic that the new DC Cole is treated like a superstar on his first assignment out of Hendon College without engendering jealousy amongst his peers. Even more distracting was the dialogue. Every second sentence the speaker uses the listener's name. It reminded me of a salesman trying to promote rapport by using your name constantly. Having said that, I will read more of this author's work as the plot kept me reading until the end.
