I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was well researched, very readable and very convincing. As an insight into Victorian and Edwardian court life and the mores of 19th century England it was very educational. One could picture the many assignations of the young Edward and later King Edward. It is hard to believe in this day and age that the monarchy could get away with such scandals. Indeed one only needs to contrast the fate of Princess Diana to realise how much times have changed. I would fully recommend this work to anyone with a fascination for the every day workings of the monarchy, and the social changes which have inevitably affected them.
