I began reading the series after seeing "The 100" on TV (not that the series bore any close relationship to the novels.) I have to say that the first book didn't blow me away but both follow-up books - "The 100 - Day 21" and the final chapter "The 100 - Homecoming" - were engaging and I'm pleased with my purchases. Like "Hunger Games" or "Divergent", the main characters are all young men and women. Clarke, especially, is a well-written character who comes across as a very mature young lady when she takes on the role of the 100's unofficial doctor. Glass was the one character I couldn't relate to however, perhaps because her back story was principally on the Ark. (Speaking of Glass - where did Kass Morgan dream up her first names?) All in all though - a good dystopian series.
