This book really had me experience some aha-moments as I went through it, devouring it in one sitting. After letting it rest and digest for a while, I’ll definitely go back and re-read it.
I really feel that this book would be a great resource for those struggling in their relationships, communication-wise. The author speaks in a way that is easy to understand and the information is highly practical in its nature, which is crucial when it comes to something as complex as two persons being together, creating a loving relationship and an environment that makes it possible for a deeper love to take root and flourish.
I think the 30-day structure is a marvelous way of giving this topic of relationship communication a much more hands-on and practical touch. After all, it takes two to make a relationship to work, and both have to work in order for it to work (wow, I don’t think I’ve ever used the word “work” three times in such a short sentence). But yeah, that really proves a point. It really highlights the importance of investing yourself fully in this in order for it to truly have the desired impact.
There is some invaluable information here, for sure. I actually feel rather optimistic about it all, which is something I haven’t felt in a long time. The new insights I got from reading this book really made it worth ever penny, and I’m looking forward to applying it all to my current relationship situation.
Love is a verb - a 'doing' word - and this book pretty much tells you exactly that - if you want to find love, you're going to need to put some work into the equation. For most of us, it does not simply fall into our laps and can seem like an upward struggle at first - but if you manage to put yourself on the right path, you can increase your chances of finding that special person and making your relationship work.
I truly believe that communication is the key to any relationship and was excited to read Love is a Verb for that very reason. I found the book to be helpful and practical, dispensing realistic advice that is easy to follow if one is willing to try. I think this book would be good for people in new relationships or who have been in a long relationship.
Love isn't easy, it takes a lot of work. That's the lesson Lindstrom gives us in this superb book. This isn;t just a book that will help you to improve your relationship with your partner, it's a book that will teach you about what love is and what it isn't and in the end, that makes you a better person too. It's full of good advice I can see myself passing along to others. Highly recommended.
A great book full of wonderful advice on how to improve your relationship/s. The author is a self-described philosopher. He/she, it turns out, is also superb annalist of all things love. He/she has also created a fantastic book based on the results. Recommended.
