In Enders game I thought I had read the best on offer but now that I have moved on to Speaker for the Dead I know I have experienced an awe inspiring tale that weaves a spell that cannot be broken. And I say this even having read all four books before. The strength of this series is the need to revisit them again just to relive the buzz I got the first time round, and the second etc. I have read these at least four times over the years (the last one recently) and I still get a thrill turning the pages and exploring the Piggies, the Hegamon and the Buggers. The Ender series is a Sci Fi must and for me there is no better exponent of the genre that Orson Scott Card. Peter Eerden
The continuation of Enders story of loss, pain, persecution and road to redemption feels so real. It brings a depth of feeling and a realness with it that both move me and force me to consider the meaning of what it is to be human and what it is to live in the world with others. It takes real problems and gives them a fantastic caste so that we can consider the current problems of our own lives with a level of abstraction that frees us from bias. In short, it is everything that good sci fi is supposed to be.
