First time read by this author which I quite enjoyed and even though it's a novel contains enough historical storyline to give an insight into life during that time in Italy. There are twists and turns with the main characters right up to the end.

Good historical drama of 1930s' Italy.

The central character, Isabella, is a compelling person who drives the plot by her obsession to understand why anyone would want to kill her. And then is confronted by the mystery of Rosa.

I found it to be a very readable and accessible book.

Thoroughly enjoyed this book. It has believable characters and is able to take you back to the times when freedom was not a natural state of being.

Different very interesting as there has been little written about the country or the period that changed the World and saw many move to Australia.

Such an interesting story. Really enjoyed Ms Furnivall's writing. Good pace and characters. On the hunt for more Furnivall! Couldn't put it down.

This book hooked me from page 1, and continued to do so until the very end! Characters are colourful and the scene set beautifully. Would happily read more by Kate Furnivall!
