What a beautiful message, all summed up in thousands of little words! Despite some editing issues, I really enjoyed this book. It was a story of love, lust, betrayal and forgiveness, but more than that, you don't have to lose yourself to be in love. It built nicely to a climatic ending where you will need a box of tissues. I think alot of people will see a little (or lot) of themselves in Sophia, we want to be Tia, we want a chance to ogle Antonio and we all want a Brandon in our lives. Thankyou for sharing them with us.
Any book that wreck me & leave me a heaving mess deserves 5*. However funnily the main characters infidelity seemed insignificant at the end. But it is this event that helps Sophia mend. It makes you face life & be lucky for what you have. While a kiss maybe could be innocent its more the maybe what after?that caused the damage. All the little doubts that haunt your head. Brandon feels & is guilty & tries the best he can to resurrect his marriage. Of course you'll have to read it to find out if he succeeds. The ending was definitely tissue time & I felt for Antonio. Ambiguous maybe ? I just hate spoilers & for giving away too much of the plot so you can't experience the story itself. It is a good story of how to deal with a marriage that gets stale esp after kids & a career husband.
This book is fabulous and I enjoyed so much. While I love a good coming of age book this one really spoke to me as it was about what happens to the couple after the initial romance and how tough married life is. There is nothing wrong with the happily ever after stories but I felt this one really explored how couples change once the "grown up" pressures set in. The back story of the steamy college romance adds to the character development which is fantastic and the book then explores the troubles they are having now. I love Sophia's exploration of how she has changed in the relationship. While it is a book explores all this there is time for plenty of humour and of course some steamy love scenes. I will definitely be looking up more of BN Toler's work.
I really loved this story of couple who were married with kids. It was a story of becoming comfortable in your life and in your marriage and how this affects a couple who were so in love. Where does it go wrong and who is to blame. I just found Sophia took a great deal of the blame for what went wrong and that's why I have taken 1 star off.
I've just re read this beautiful book because I wad looking for a redeemed hero style book and I'd forgotten that is read this. How could I have forgotten. It's 4.36 am and my eyes are still leaking. Such a beautiful book yes it's largely about the 2 main characters trying to find their way back to each other after a betrayal but it is so much more as s the other characters in the book rather than being in a cast of extras they also take cente stage. This is heartening and joyful and full of hope. This author is amazing she weaves a spell and you are there.
Great book.. This starts with a possible end of a relationship that then takes us on a journey of where it started while bringing us back to the present day. I loved how it was written and the characters were believable, along with the situation they find themselves in.
